I would call your local humane society and ask them because if there is legislation it could only be in your county but Ive never heard of such and if not probably look into getting another vet. Also you can buy most vaccines OTC at Tractor Supply Company. You have to go to the vet for a rabies shot and tag but other than that the labels from the bottles of vaccine work fine with authoritys. My wife is a vet asst. so we spend $13 on a rabies shot and a quick check up once a year plus dog tags and have a beautiful healty dog.

Not that I have heard - unless something else was wrong with your pet.
In fact, I took a dog in to get his physical and wasn't sure what shots my roommate wanted her dog to get. When I went back, it wasn't even the vet that needed to give the shots, the tech did. They charged me the cost of the vaccinations but since I had just been in 3 days before, no physical exam charge. They did tell me that I needed to bring him in within a week otherwise they would do another exam.
I would be pretty ticked off. If there was nothing new wrong with your pet, if they did a full exam a week before, the tech should have been able to give the shots and you should not have been charged another exam visit. I would argue. And I would look for another vet.

Government Regulation?Wow that sounds like a good one?If I were going to have to pay for another whole Physical Exam I would go elsewhere, perhaps this Vets business is down due to over charging! My vet makes very good use of his Time or in offices visits. He always goes above and beyond what I go there for .He checks anything that even looks like a problem and is very reasonable, never saying come back tomorrow. Some Doctors will keep you running back as long as you tolerate it and can pay.My Vet has Groomer do Anal Sacs Free and sometimes does them himself. No Charge. What kind of Insurance are you talking about???

Your note is way too long, but I did read and here are my thoughts. - Kicking in the groin is a low blow. I realize this is a self-defence course and he should have been wearing protection, but you should have been absolutely sure that he was wearing it before performing such a move. - Scolding him for not wearing protection was inappropriate. Making the infertility joke was not in the best taste, but you were just trying to lighten up the situation. - Your own doctor was fine (ven if she is a young female) as long as he was comfortable with her. - You should not have been present while he was examined. I thought that once children are over the age of 16, parents were not allowed to be present and doctors are not allowed to discuss treatment without the child's consent. Maybe things are different where you live. - You should not have discussed his injury in front of anyone else, male or female without his permission. You probably shouldn't even be discussing it here without his permission, but too late for that - you've asked this question at least 5 times in the last 2 days here... JUST STOP, MOM! - Don't discuss it with him (unless he brings it up) or anyone else anymore and get a new partner in self-defence class.

Hmmm, it depends on the vet, perhaps he could just do a quick check as the dog was just ina week ago. He shouldn't charge you for the exam, just the shot at least that is my oppinion.

no, that doesn't sound right. if he had a physical the week before, he should have charged you for the shots only, find another vet. I wonder about this one's honesty.

Every vet I've ever gone to has given the physical free when I get my pets vaccinated and heartworm tested.

Yes, you do need to have your pet have a physical. This is a way to be sure that you are not abusing your dog. Also, the vet can cure cancer easier if it is found early.

No. There's no government regulation I've ever heard of. If she was examined last week, then I can't see a full office visit charge just for bordatella, which is usually a liquid in the nasal cavity vaccine.
