have been prone to bias, lies, corruption, insecurity, ego issues and treachery?....but these traits just happened to 'miss out' on the men who wrote the bible?
Strange also how all men are sinful by nature-apart from those who wrote the bible...Can anyone explain this?

If the authors weren't infallible then how can you trust it?! In science we can reference other poeple's booka to back up a theory, for example.

That's a joke right?

By your reasoning we should not trust any scientists since they also have a sinful nature. God speaks to sinful men all the time. Jesus bridged the gap between sinful man and God.

No! I am challenging your reasoning, I'm not brainwashed, I don't think all men are sinful. And in reference to scientists, we can test their theories and look at other scientists for a back up.

“There is strong reason to believe that St. Paul fabricated the belief system of Christianity from Zoroastrian mythology. In order to hide Paul’s plaigerism… Christians burned the library of Alexandria in 390 A.D. Books in that library kept Mithra’s original story of what Pauline Doctrine is an almost exact copy. The Christian Trinity is a copy of the Pagan religion of Rome called Mithraism. Mithra was a half man half god who died for the sins of his followers. Guess what date the SUN god Mithra was born on ? - Thats right ...December 25th

This would take a long time to answer. But, here are a couple of things you may not have known. None of the men who wrote down the scriptures ever claimed to be infallible - they simply recorded events as they happened to preserve them for us. God spoke to and through his prophets - and they wrote it down - they also lived various lives. Some were totally righteous and rarely, if ever, sinned. Some weren't.
For instance - King David wrote the majority of the Psalms - read about his life sometime - he loved God but was a real "stinker" in many ways. Paul, whose letters comprise much of the New Testament, was a persecutor (and killer) of Christians before his conversion on the road to Damascus. Even Moses, tried to talk God out of using him and ended up not being allowed into the promised land for his disobedience.

You are right all men (read: human beings) have a sinful nature - the ones who wrote the Bible - especially the ones with the gift of prophesy, dictated what they saw, heard, and understood to be from God to scribes who recorded it so that we have the word of God and the works of Jesus to guide our lives. Isn't that great?

I am assuming that your question is sincere, so I hope that you can see that, really, everyone sins, no exceptions save Jesus Christ. The men who wrote down what has become the modern Bible were as human as you and I - but they wrote the truth, and the truth is the Word of God through his people.

Sorry if this is too "preachy" but that's the truth of it.

One more thought - are you very good at your job - do you tell the truth when you are working? Have you ever told a lie, made a mistake, gotten angry and said hateful things? If you have, how can you still be trusted to be competent at your profession? (don't get angry, just using your logic for why the writers of the Bible can't be trusted) Just think about it.

God Bless - keep on asking!

The men (and women) who wrote the Bible had had a personal relationship with Jesus Christ or had been touched by God and/or the Holy Spirit in some way. Yes, they were still men and prone to sin, but they were chosen by God and fillled with his spirit. They did not "miss out" on bad traits, they were converted by he power of God. The Bible says that "if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature; old things are passed away, and behold all things are become new."

wow i have a pretty good answer for u actually..my answer is from a similar question that was proposed, so some of it might not make sense:

OMG..don't you all see that having so many different versions of the Bible indicates a corrupt religion? Many authors, editors, revisors, etc. of the Bible only changed/deleted/added verses to appeal to Christians so they would remain faithful (in other words through lies) and to appeal to people who are interested in converting (the same way). Converting through lies and putting in what people WANT to hear is corrupt. For all we know, the all-loving peaceful Bible could have had some ugly verses that were deleted or replaced with more peaceful ones so that Christianity could not look like a culprit or evil religion in the future. CORRUPTION!

An imperfect, flawed religion indicates that it is disqualified as being the true religion.

When you said, "I think people are seeing the question they want to asnwer, not asnwering what has been asked..."

Well, thats kind of like the Christians changing the Bible into what they want their religion to be like (aka allowing more freedoms, making bad deeds seem less impactful, etc.), not seeking the truth or caring about what is really meant for them.

Says who? the prophets were sinful men the same as we are sinful. The only difference in any man is the difference God makes and he made this difference through Jesus Christ.
We are by faith made new but have yet to be reborn litterally ...this promise we have by faith.

Well, God wrote the Bible, and He's sinless. But the men who scribed it -- inspired by the Holy Spirit -- were not sinless by any stretch, and they themselves admitted it!
