I have just started using VSO convertXtodvd to burn my avi video files to disc the only problem I have is that I am using memorex DVD-R and when I go to watch the dvd on my dvd players it states unknown disc can anyone help please as I am new to burning dvds.

try using a better quality disc like tayio yuden, memorex discs are not very reliable. if that doesnt work get a cheaper dvd player they usually play all discs the more expensive dvd player are very selective and usually dont play burned discs.

Try burning to DVD+R discs. Some DVD players only play DVD+R discs, though most up-to-date ones do read both -R and +R discs.

your best bet is to buy a divx compatable dvd player this will play avi files no probs you can get 5-6 films on one blank dvd, you can convert your avi files to dvd format if you want using nero but it takes ages & in my opinion its not worth the hastle BUY A DIVX dvd player you wont go far wrong trust me.
