Part 2?? You didn't even post part 1!

Sheesh!

Edit: No, Bunkie, you did NOT post part 1! Your previous post is titled:

"Bad Credit.. Do you think persons with bad credit are worse drivers?"

Where you get: "Is Auto Insurance Is a scam part 1?" out of that escapes me.

Sure, everyone thinks its a scam until they really need it. Yea, paying for insurance sucks. But, People are so narrow minded and dont realize what they have until they are stuck in a bad situation.

Example:

1) you very lightly rearend another car and its 8 passegers all claim permenant injuries. There lawyers start sending you letters demanding you pay each 50,000 for a total of 400,000 dollars. in the meantime- you put a little scratch on the back of their car!

2) someone runs a red light and hits you and claims you hit them and their insurance sends you the bill for their repairs. How do you defend yourself?

You sure would be happy you spend 100 dollars a month for insurance then.. trust me.

The idea of insurance is good.

As with many things left to a company out to make a profit, benefits and coverage seem to dwindle, while rates seem to rise.

I think Medical Insurance is a bigger problem.

Anyone seen Sicko yet?

So where's part one of your question?

No, it isn't. It is a way to be protected from financial ruin in the event you do something stupid and break property belonging to someone else.

Not every state requires insurance, some only require financial responsibility. If you are a large company with many assets, you can self insure. If you are a rich individual, you can put up a cash bond in the amount of the state minimum in lieu of insurance.
