Yes you can. I know this because I found true love on the Internet and am getting married later this year to him. Of course you have to be careful because there are many who's only purpose for internet romance is to defraud someone. Most people who just want internet sex admit to this, though I'm sure there are some who would be dishonest. There are also many, many people who I think tend to be more honest because they don't have as much fear of rejection as they would if they were talking in person so they are not quite as vulnerable. When I met my fiance he was just looking for someone to practice his English skills with. We were introduced by a mutual friend that he knew in person and I knew from the internet. After only a few weeks and many hours of talking online using the mic and webcam our friendship turned romantic. We both later admitted there was an immediate attraction to each other, but we let it develop from friendship to love. We both know that we are soulmates and each other's true love. So it most definitely can be found.

Why not? The internet seems to be just another mechanism for meeting people except you can meet many times more people and at a more effective rate. Consider it analagous as to what some people do in going to bars. They are out on the single scene looking to meet people. Similarly the internet is something like speed dating.

I think there is a stigma in society around internet dating because people associate this for some reason with being a geek, nerd or any other wierdo. But in reality its just an effective utilization of technology. Think of it how you use AIM or email to keep in touch with more friends rather than writing letters or using the telphone the old way.

You sure can! I met my fiance on nerve.com, and some of our friends met their spouses online as well. It's really the best way if you're tired of the bar scene or your friends trying to hook you up.

I live in LA so it's hard to meet quality people, since the city is so spread out. I know there would be no way I would have ever met my man without the internet.

No. You can only find true love by knowing a person face-to-face and interacting with them face-to-face. The Internet is a great way to organize networks of people with common interests and to provide an introduction for people with common goals (dating is a goal) but it stops there. People who find their 'soul mate' by long-distance Internet chats could have found their soul mate by getting out and meeting someone at a soccer match - and the outcome would be just the same.

There are lots of happy couples who found their partners on the internet. I know some of them. :-) BUT they had to spend a lot of time together in the real 3-D world to establish that they really were right for each other.

People say you can never really know anyone online. Well, do you ever really know anyone? During and after my divorce, I found out her true colors! Now, if you'll excuse me, the woman I've been with for eight years and married to that I met online is calling...

Yeah, do basically not look for it there. If it happens, however, actual love is actual love. Like whatstheirface mentioned above me. it is meant to be unpredicted and unusual. So what in case you are able to in basic terms text fabric and talk over the telephone? That basically ability it is not all approximately intercourse. A plus, in case you question me.

I did!!! I have been with my fiance for almost 2 years and we are obviously getting married. We knew from the first time we saw each other that we would be married. After our first date I went home and told my mom that he was the one and he went to his friends house and that I was freaking hot and that he just went on his last first date. We have been inseperable ever since. We met on eharmony.com
