I made mine. I'm not gonna lie - you need to be a patient person!!! I used this wooden bow-maker thing that I bought at Michaels. I used wired ribbon. Definitely use wired ribbon!!! It was kind of a pain in the butt, and I am usually a crafty person!! I felt like throwing the thing through the wall at first!! Haha! It got easier as I got the hang of it. That bow-maker worked well. It had instructions inside on how to make all types of different bows. It was only $10. Good luck to you!! :)

This works with tulle, not sure about ribbon, but it's worth a try. Wrap the ribbon around an object (I used the back of a chair) 6 times. Hold on to the end so the loops don't come apart and take it off of the chair. Tie it in the center with another piece of ribbon, then seperate the layers. I imagine this would work well if you used the kind of wide ribbon with wires in it so it holds its shape. Good luck!

yes, but then I worked at a florist for 2 years before my wedding, so I had PLENTY of bow-making experience. I would defiently get something wired, it stands out prettier and is easier to work with. Go to dollar tree or something and buy some cheap ribbon and start practicing, b/c thats what a lot of bow-making is about....experience! lol! Don't be surprised if it takes a while. every person makes them differently as well. I start with a small loop, twist the ribbon together, then make a slightly bigger loop on the other side, and twist the underside of the ribbon and pinch, then make another bigger loop on the other side, twist and pinch, repeat until bow is size you want, cut some tails and using a floral wire, tie it all together, twist the wires with pliers if possible....it holds it together better. I have realized this is not gonna make sence from reading it...sorry! I found this video on youtube.... its kinda the general idea of what I am talkin about. maybe it will help! If all else fails, go see your florist, she can totally do it for you and it shouldn't cost a lot!

My sister is a very crafty gal. She made mine with ribbons and flowers. There are diffrent tecqniques to made pretty bows, I'm sure that you can get instructions on how to make pretty bows.
I remember she used two diffrent widths of ribbon in contrasting colors. She used organza (tulle, eww! no way!) as an accent.
She tied the middle of the bow with a separate piece of ribbon. Also, she use the dull side of a knife or scissors to curl up the ends of the ribbon.
She also used glue gun to attach some flowers and organza panels that went down to the floor..
Some craft stores and florist that sell ribbons that are already made. It saves time and trouble.

Good luck

I wanted our ceremony and reception decor to be simple but elegant so I bought a huge bolt of ribbon from my local craft store. I cut about a yard and a half per ribbon and then tied the ribbon around the top of each pew into a really loose knot and let the rest of the ribbon hang down. I then took a single pink tulip and placed the tulip stem into each knot and then tightened the knot just a bit. We received so many compliments on the simplicity of it and it really looked great! Oh, I also put those plastic water tubes on the end of each tulip and I found them for only $0.09 a piece!

I made my own bows. I went to Costco and they had a lot of ribbon that was two inches wide. I got that and some wire from the craft store. I made the bows eight loops total. Then since I had so much left, I made bows for the church doors, bows for the railing at the church too. Saved me lots of money and I did it while I was watching TV at night.

I did for my wedding. Find ribbon on sale or on clearance at craft stores or fabric stores. Find a ribbon board: it is a long piece of wood or plastic with dowil rods that you can place at different lengths. This will help you to make very uniform bows. I also got extra silk flowers that matched the bouquets and I placed them in the centers of the bows with floral wire. I also used clear Christmas lights and wrapped them in white toulle (tutu material) and hung that at the reception. It gave a very sophisticated look.

I have! How big do you want the bows? wrap them around your hand to elbow at the length you want, then tie the middle with a piece of wire and spread the loops. After this you decide how long you want the tails and cut the ribbon on an angle and attach them with a wire and then tie them to the edge of the pew. good luck

Use ribbon with wire, it can be shaped and won't droop.

There are also bow kits that can be found in craft stores.
