Usually when a dogs breath smells there are underlying factors..Like teeth..he could have a bad one..stomach..or some illness.. see the vet just to be on the safe side.
Their breath should not smell that bad you can't stand it.

your local petstore will have dental hygiene kits.. basically... doggie toothbrushes and toothpaste. some have sprays and mints.. but those only cover up the problem. also, try Greenies. they are a type of long lasting bone that cleanes the teeth and gums.
you should also consider taking your dog to the vet. halitosis in dogs is often and indication that there are more serious dental problems.. such as gum disease and tooth decay.

Well at PetSmart there are dog mints that they love to eat and are good for their breath. If that doesnt work i suggest you take him to your local vet because he may have a rotten tooth that makes it smell so bad.

Well, it probally smells like poop because your dog possibly eats its own poop..so if you want it to smell better, go to like the dog or pet stores and theres this green thingy that looks like a toothbrush/bone..your dog is gonna like its taste and eat it all...after that, his breath should smell better in no time..try it, it helped for my puppy..

Brush your dogs teeth or take him to the vet to get them cleaned. Give kibble instead of canned food. Give your dog chew toys specifically designed to help remove plaque and tartar build up

I let my dog eat about half of a candy cane. She loves them. I will hold it for her and she licks it and bites pieces off. It makes her breath smell much better.
