He's a shy kid who loves video games and doesn't really have a lot of friends...if any. This year he wants a real birthday party. Last year we just took him & another kid to Knott's. I have a small home so I don't want it there. What are some good places to have an 11 yr olds party??? Bowling??? Ideas??? Thanks!!!

Bowling is always a good idea.

Also there is a movie with Jerry Seinfield-BEE Movie, coming out the first week of November. Cartoon about obviously a Bee. A few kids' parties we have been to they have rented out a theater.

Another good one is renting a hotel room. You could get a room by an indoor pool and have a pool party. I know some hotels even have BBQ's by the pool area, or just order a pizza. If you have the strength a few kids can even spend the night.

My son just turned 11 in May. We took his 2 closest friends to see Spiderman then went back to our house for pizza and cupcakes.

A nearby farm that offers some Halloween/Harvest based activities is a good idea too.

If you have a place like chuckie cheeses all kids like it there. They got video games there play area prizes and the money machine where the kid goes inside and they turn it on and the kid tries to catch money it fake money so they can get prizes or if there is a roller skating rink. Here is a good one when you send out the invitations tell parents give there kids money and take them all to a video arcade.Barbecue birthdays are awesome to grill out at the park and put up some games go treasure hunting for the things you hid

Rent an amusement dealer's show room. Kids can play all the games they want, usually for an hour or two, and have pizza.

Laser bowling, on a Friday or Sat night

Local YMCA or sports place and rent to have a soccer party

A local sports team game, hockey or other that you could take a few friends and then go out to dinner or dinner before

My son has had or gone to parties at : Lazer Tag places, Bowling Alley's, Swimming Pool and Skating Rink. For a kid that likes video games you might consider Dave and Busters or similar place. Or for something completely different go to your local Game Stop or other video game resale shop and see if they do special tournaments. The one near us has regular tornaments every week but I wonder if they would setup a special birthday one for just him and him friends.

how about sleding if you have snow. you can make the sleds out to be like horses to ride down the hill on. you can have a snowball fight with the kids between cowboys and indians. ^_^ kids like parties but you need to keep in mind kids love outside more than anything in the end. and they all prob dont get to play in the snow that much being so young. so perhaps a 10 min trip to play in the snow would give them all a smile to go home with. can always ask another parent or two to stay and help watch them all. good luck ^_^

We gathered a bunch of kids & went to the community baseball park & played a game there. No one was using the fields. You can do the same with soccer or something like that. You can serve hot dogs, popcorn, pickles...ball park stuff : )

Pool party at the nearest country club. They usually will rent out to the public for a few hours. (it's still warm in Oct, at least, down here in the south)
