In a polygraph test they give you a few questions first to establish a "baseline" for your physical reaction to a question. They will ask you a series of truth questions, then a series of embarassing questions you might lie about... The truth questions might be something like.... "Is your name John Doe ?, are you 25 years old ?, do you live in Manchester ?.......the lie question would be..."Have you ever looked at another man naked ?, do you have pornography in your home ?, have you ever used drugs ?"....these questions they don't know the answer to, but they are establishing the baseline for lies still....and may continue asking embarassing questions until they think they've gotten an anomaly(lie).

to pass a lie detector test, you have to destroy the baseline.
When you answer the truth question, you have to trick your mind into forcing a lie result.... So you ask me if I live in Manchester, and I ask myself if I graduated college as if i'm in a job interview... Now I resond yes out loud..but to my own question...which is a lie.(never graduated :( )....now the test shows a lie response to a truthful answer. This is very difficult and would take alot of practice and mentally preparation...you need a mental arsenal of questions to yourself, which you could decide to lie or truth to...to get the desired result.

IGNORE the polygraph. Just answer the questions. Contrary to popular belief, the person giving the test is paying MUCH more attention to YOU than to the machine. The polygraph is basically one more mind game.

My brother had to take 4 polygraph exams for a security clearance. He was convinced he was failing for no good reason right up until they handed him the clearance.

The best way is tell the truth. There are ways to control your heart rate and keeping your pulse at a correct level for different questions. They collect many singles from the body and one way people are trained to help in beating one is biting your tongue to give a false result on the polygraph.Or using a tack in the back of your shoe and when they ask a question you can step on the tack in the show to send pain singls to give a false reading on the pollygraph.

Tell the truth duh. I know that even if you are telling the truth but are nervous you can fail. That is why the polygraph is not worth a crap. Just calm down and tell the truth.

good luck. polygraph tests test your body functions. whether you admit it or not when you lie, your pulse rate increases, you start to perspire, those are things you cannot control.
