All false cults teach they their religion is the only true religion.
The LDS and JWs and SDAs all teach the same on that issue.
Real followers of Jesus know that church organizations don't really matter, what matters is that we have a religionship with Jesus and that we've asked Jesus to forgive our sins.

Well, church bashing ain't cool. Christianity is believing Christ died on the Cross for your sins and accepting Him as your saviour... I am not LDS, but have recently learned a very good lesson about church bashing, and it hurt me deeply... so I have to learn to express what I believe without harm... I will tell you that in reading last night to be exact 1st Timothy of the bibles new testament - the whole book of 1st Timothy (which isn't very big) I got my understanding of how what I grew up believing (methodist/nazarine/baptist/calvery-we moved alot) differs from what LDS religion grew up believing.
As I progressed further into the book of 1st Timothy I saw a lot of differences.
Take care.

I don't believe that the LDS Church is really even a part of New Testament Christianity at all. It's teachings stray too far from Scripture and rely on the teachings of Joseph Smith for foundation.

Aside from the fact that it is somehow inherently bizarre in itself that whole religions have their own websites, most of them seem to be touting the fact that they are the "one true faith". And to make matters worse, all of the different denominations insist on calling each other "cults" (said pot to kettle....). It's been all over the news today about how the pope has pissed everyone off by declaring that catholics are the "only true christians". Gimme a break! Organized religion sucks.

The Mormons think they're the only true christians. So do the Catholics, the Lutherans, the Baptists, the Anglicans, the Pentecostals, the Holiness, the Methodists, ad infinitum, ad nauseam. It's a conceit of religion to think you're part of an exclusive group of people who have it right.

Contrary to popular belief, the Mormons or Latter Day Saints are not Christians. They are at best a very large cult.
Here is the main reason why LDS's are not Christian - they do not believe in the Trinity. That is, they do not believe that God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit are in fact (as stated in the Nicene Creed) one God forever and ever.
LDS's believe that God the Father and God the Son are two separate and distinct beings with their own bodies and own spiritual beings and that the Holy Spirit is a separate entity all together.
Because belief in the Holy Trinity is central to all Christian faiths and the fact that the Mormons deny the Holy Trinity, you can safely say that they are in fact not Christians.

We are the ONLY True and Living Church on the face of the earth, all others are apostates and err in the word of God.
Why are we the only living church? Because we are still growing, we receive new revelations from God to guide his people. We don't strictly rely on a book that is 1300 yrs old, we have a book that is a companion to the fore mentioned book and a collection of Modern Revelations. For us the heavens aren't sealed, angels visit the earth, and the church of God continues to grow.

That is what they say. They believe that they have the ONLY true church. The Catholics are starting to sound just like them.. neither the Mormons nor the Catholics seem to remember that it's not religion that is important here it's Jesus.... Jim

It is true. To the LDS.
Just like fundamentalism is the only acceptable form of Christianity to a born-again, and just like Islam is to a Muslim.
When it comes to religion, TRUTH is relative to what denomination you belong to.

Most TBMs (true believing mormons) post their 'testimony' here all the time, and the gist of it is: "They 'know' (not just believe) their church is True and Joseph Smith was a True prophet of god, and the Book of Mormon is True". What this implies the unstated insinuation that whatever you believe or not believe is wrong, false, led by Satan, an abomination, etc.
Exclusivity is not suggested, it is flaunted before you.
Mormonism is a club, with initiations, secret handshakes and a literal 'good old boy' network of nice, hardworking, but exclusive and reclusive people.
