ImNotCrazy - Wow. You hate your heritage so much that you dont want to be one. That is a shame for us. Do you know why we hate Arabs?
This is not because of something happened 500 years ago its something that happened 1000 years ago. They destoyed our religion and cxonverted to Islam. After that our empire gone they destroyed our empire and they wanted to destroy our culture which our pride didnt let that to happen.
I have to say our pride is not destroying us do you know what is destroying us to have people like you that they dont even like to be an Iranian. We are not like Arabs, Chinese, Indians or other countries which thier people stand up with each other and support each other. We see our own kind (iranians) as our enemies that if we see them we dont even dare to say hello to each other. This is what we are doing this is what you are doing destroying your culture with your own hands.

I have friends from Iran who are American citizens now, so I know more about your culture than the average American. First of all, your food is the best! They just opened a new Persian restaurant in our area and the food is fabulous. A lot of people have negative stereotypes of Iranians and confuse Iranians with Arabs. They do not realize that they are not the same. Also, Americans do differentiate between the Government and the people. We may not like your President, but that doesn't mean that we don't like all people from your country. There is a lot of fear of Muslims in the aftermath of 9/11. People don't realize that before the Revolution, Iran was very western in its attitudes and lifestyle. They also don't know that Iran is a large country with varied climates. They think of Iran like the Arabian desert, which is all wrong. Overall, many people here are ignorant about your country and your culture. They do not realize how many people were killed in the Iran/Iraq war and how many people in Iran are working for social change.
My friends from your country are loyal friends who are now my family. They have a great knowledge about the world, and they are outspoken on world events. They are people with great hospitality.

Hi! How good that you ask this question. It is sad that you have to feel like that. I think some foreigners have a wrong impression about your country or your people, and I think the Iranian people get a wrong impression/ picture of the western world. I think that is partly (to a great extent) due to your government. Some people really believe that. It seems that you are not so sure about it, and are asking this question. That is wonderful (and smart). Some people here think that you hate us. They also think you are not modern (they think you don't have modern machines or computers). There are also many people here, that know that you are a cultured people, usually moderate and humanistic, and usually very welcoming to guests (we could learn something from that). It would be much better if the Iranian have more freedom of speech and could be more free in what you want to do. The young Iranian people and the western world could work together very well! The problem is, that when you feel like the rest of the world hates you, you might really start to hate the rest of the world. Let's stop that! Ask questions like this. Try to talk with people from all over the world (internet is great for this). And don't start to hate us. Let's build world peace! Tell your friends too! Take care! J K (Holland).

As an Iranian person I can say as well as the foriengners think...they are extrremely arrogant, superficial, shallow and materialistic...they are very disruptive and loud. They voice the feeling they are superior because of their Aryan heritage...talk garbage on Arabs for something that happend over 500 years ago.(Arabs are a great people)
Iranains let their pride destroy them..It killed the perisan empire time and time again. They feel they can talk trash on anyone they want yet when someone makes fun of them they shout "racism".
I am not alone many people confided in me that they cannot stand iranians in LA alot of clubs deny them entry because they have caused too many disruptions.
After 20 years of being immersed by this I confess I am utterly ashamed to be Iranian...if I had no family in Iran I would not want to ever go to that infernal country..I am instead american and damn proud of it.
In ur dreamz is right many of them are racist....I've seen them racist against blacks, mexicans, asians, and Arabs all for the most stupid reasons.
I have also been to Iran many times and I don't want to go back there anytime soon
I Also want it known that my feelings came from first hand experiances and not from the media.
Response..>Wrong Sara..the persian empire fell because of internal corruption and political upheaval which left them weak....the arabs did not destroy them they were destroyed when the arabs came.. and The reason I am ashamed to be persian is because "We see our own kind (iranians) as our enemies that if we see them we dont even dare to say hello to each other"..of that...I came to a bunch of persians and they shunned me like a freak, that sparked my dislike of persians.
Sarah...i know more about Iran and persian history than you do...so don't lecture me. the Persian empire fell by the persian hand and persians today refuse to believe that and therefore the Persian empire will never return thus I have become utterly disgusted and renounced my heritage
P.s I was born in the USA therefore I can truthfully say I am an american...don't insult me by saying that it would be a lie...and Islam is a great religion...

Love them. I have had many experiences in business over the years with Persians and I have yet to meet one who was a jerk. For the most part they are humble, honest and easy to get along with. Lately I have seen a few documentaries (a series on LinkTV) made recently in Iran about life in Iran and it looks like a beautiful country...I would love to just spend a day walking through the markets and talking with the people as they seem very capable of having an intelligent conversation (which is hard to come by in the USA).

I think you are beautiful people!
I met a group of Iranian men last year and they were very friendly. They asked a lot of intelligent questions about American women which my girlfriends and I were happy to answer. They were also very polite - quite pleseant in general. I would love to run into them again, the conversation was quite memorable. I don't hate anyone.

Do foriegns hate us
This one doesn't. I've known some Iranians here in US.
One bad egg, but most were like all of us.
Been to fine Iranian restaurants here.
I have to say that it is difficult to say anything positive about your government.
Hell, you may feel the same about ours.

i don't know many iranians, but the very few i've met were some of the nicest people ever...they were nothing like what the media portrayed them as(what a surprise!?*sarcasm intended*)...I've lived in the uae most of my life, so i can very much see through the media's bland portrayal of Iranians..
