We will be getting married in Monterey, CA int he old historic district. We came across these bikes called surreys last time we were down there....

My idea is to have each couple in the bridal party (3 girls, 3 guys) and me and my groom ride in to the reception on the surreys as an interesting way to introduce ourselves as the married couple...
The reception is in an old walled in adobe garden and we would enter in through the large wrough iron gates. Thoughts? Fun? Stupid?

There is no exhaust as they are pedals, the girls will be wearing knee length dresses and we will have the guys pedal for the most part, my dress is not large (slim fit) so not really a rick to it getting stuck anywhere. They are also very clean and well kept...

I think it sounds cute. Kind of quirky and different, but definitely unique!! Go for it!
Can you decorate the surreys? Maybe streamers in your wedding colors? And if you're concerned about getting dirty, you can always toss a coordinating blanket over the seats.
Very cool idea!

Sounds awesome! Go for it!
The best entrance I have ever seen was the party went out in the harbor on their boat and after we were all assembled at the house they pulled the boat up to the dock and they walked up the gang plank as they were introduced. Much more interesting than the opening of doors. Your idea seems like it would be the same unique and cool idea!

Yeah, I'm from monterey and I know the bikes...I think they are hideous. They have the handsome cab sometimes during the year. I think that might be a better place. Where exactly is the rececption...is it by or on the cobblestone type street?

i think it would be fun and very unique..just be very careful that you wedding gown doesn't get caught in the back wheel or drag on the ground....
are they kind of smokey too..? they look pretty old (it might make you reception area smell like exhaust..???)
just be cafeful with all the things that could be attached to using that bike...but i do think it's a cute idea!

I love the idea!!!!!!!!!!!!!
This will be memorable and different.
Make a statement, you go girl!
Good luck
PS/ May I suggest covering your surrey really well with fabric. You don't want any scuff marks on your dress.!

I think it would be cute, but please make sure you can do it safely. I'm a little worried that the girl's dresses might get caught in the chain or gears if she's trying to pedal a bike.

Definitely unique and fun!!
I would be sure, though, to find a company who will be ready for you in advance, so that you don't find yourself standing on the street waiting to find a free one!
