deaths Embrace...Thank you for your answer...Although I will respectfully, disagree, I appreciate your honesty. Can you address why as of late, JW's are allowed to use most of what is in blood...as a transfusion to save a life...there is no scriptural changes....I think it is because the Governing body is looking at their own mortality and are unable to abstain themselves....this is a life and death matter.

And yet more apostate dribble. Hope you're enjoying all the attention you get now.

No I don't care about '10' points, and I don't care about your snappy comeback. And I love how 'you people' claim to have been Jehovah's Witnesses for years, and years, and years, and years, and...well, yeah. NOT!

You're right. It is so sad that people have died because these guys misinterpreted the Bible and believed they were being faithful to God as they were watching their loved ones slip through their hands. They could have used the alternatives mentioned but now they are perhaps beginning to actually start saving the lives that once would have been lost. Is it 'the new light' or are they just starting to open there eyes to what was already there?

I don't think they will split like you said because then they would have to give up some of their power. There have been sects and divisions before but they are usually disavowed by the main body. So, anyone who joined, would be disfellowshipped and considered a devil worshipper by the Main Body of Jehovah's Witnesses. They would have court battles over the Name. It would be interesting to see that. They don't have any around here.

Are you hoping they will break up so that you can go back to a church you are more familiar with but with improvements? I'm not sure if that is good enough for me or if any of my Witness relatives would ever join so it doesn't really effect me. Too bad? Or maybe, good for me! I don't know.

Watchtower gospel of gobbledygook

The blood transfusion issue is still a hot item, even though the Watchtower has practically allowed all 'parts' of the blood individually, just not together!
Doesn't the Bible clearly state to "pour ALL the blood onto the ground and cover it with dust because to Jehovah the life blood belongs"?

So, how can the Watchtower leaders allow most of the parts of blood which they euphemistically call "blood fractions" YET forbid "whole blood"?
Isn't it all sacred to Jehovah,or is this a legal ruse to keep from being sued?

(I will be cursed by God for eating a whole ham sandwich but if I eat the bun, mayo, mustard, cheese, ham, pickle separately it's o-kay today.)

Remember thousands of devout obedient Jehovah's Witnesses have DIED for this blood stance.

The entire doctrine is senseless and deadly.
The Bible says nothing about blood transfusions. They didn't exist when the Old Testament and Acts were written. The Bible passages in question (kosher law) have to do with diet. Neither the Jews nor other groups oppose blood transfusions because they don't try to put a spin on something that isn't there. If the Watchtower had not issued this prohibition, no Jehovah's Witness would oppose them on Biblical grounds.
Go to Israel and try and find a super observant Orthodox Jew or Rabbi who believes that blood transfusions are against God's Law given to Moses. You can't.

http://www.towertotruth.net/Articles/blood_transfusions.htm Will you die for a lie?
(Jehovah's Witnesses do use many products that are derived from blood banks (so called blood 'fractions') but they themselves won't donate a drop)

The Watchtower is a truly Orwellian world.

We need to realize with question like these that there are many witnesses too new or too young to realize how much the blood doctrine has changed over the past several decades. And it's become so convoluted that it's hard to find a single one of 'em who actually understands it.

When my late husband was diagnosed with cancer in 2002, we asked a couple of elders to the house to help us with the advanced medical directive for his doctors and the hospital. When we started asking them about the nuances of blood use, they had to say they'd have to go back and research it. They never did have an answer.

I remember witnessing to a couple of nurses at a surgical center where a feeding tube had to be inserted. They'd asked for the reasons why we refused blood. I gave them a thorough explanation that any witness would have been proud of. They thanked me sincerely for explaining it. They didn't ask about the minutiae. I would never have had a clue how to answer. I look back on situations like that and cringe to think of the damage I left behind.

We weren't the first witnesses to be treated by those doctors or at that cancer center. The hospital liaison committee is quite active. Imagine my chagrin, less than a year later, to see that among the many anonymous members of "Associated Jehovah's Witnesses for Reform on Blood" are some who are members of those committees who are trying to get the teaching changed.

So as I quote from an answer that I recently read:

Over history of the WBTS there has been about only a hundred that have sat on the governing body.

Are these getting old and needing heart surgery and other treatment for diseases such as cancer or general decrepitude.

Is this why "the change" in the use of blood components to the inclusion of everything?

Is this NEW LIGHT or self serving?

For example the Members of the Jewish faith that are strict adherents make no compromises in the dietary laws, the laws of mixing dissimilar items, or other statutes set by God .

but

Have JWs on fear of splintering now changed a course as they lead millions down the primrose path?
or
Is the governing body afraid for the masses to learn they themselves have chose to use blood during that pagan rite called life saving surgery?

Change of expediency aye?

Got your arttention - didn't I - Hot Attention - Pharisees and the Orthodox Jews - what an attack - strongest attack against the tribe of Judah I have heard from a JW for quite awhile.

Are you yourself a Pharisee?

Dear Santa Claus,
Throughout the years JWs have had different view points. In the beginning they actually believed in you and celebrated holidays, but no longer. Why? Because like true students they've researched and researched the bible to get it's true meaning. As you see the Bible is full of metaphors and it takes years of study to actually get real meaning out of it. For other religions it's easy for them just to take everything literally like fiery hell, that Satan is a serpent, and that there are references that Jesus and Jehovah are the same person. But odd how they choose to still idolatrize Marys and saints when the bible says not to, this they choose to ignore. Along with Jehovah commanding to abstain from blood. JWs can still, though, get an alternative such as blood volumizers.

I'm actually not a baptised JW and have stopped attending meetings for 6 years now. The only one I go to is Jesus' commemoration. I haven't been going not because I've stopped believing in their beliefs but because of pure tiredness (from work). I've been thinking of starting to attend again, though. Anyway, that is true there is no specific verse that says we can alternate to parts of blood cells. The bible just says to abstain from it, but I believe that due to scientific and medical breakthroughs we have more options to use more methods that do not consist of pure blood. Since these methods contain parts of the blood cell and not the actual blood itself JWs may think that it is okay to use it. Contrary to what some people say or think of us we are very open to medical and scientific breakthroughs. So if the chance is there that we can use another method to save a life without the use of blood we'll take it. JWs are not interested in killing, they are just doing what Jehovah is saying. Besides those of the governing body are quick to note that after Armageddon takes place, the dead will be resurrected to live with the survivors in an earthly paradise. So I don't believe that they are changing this for their own purpose, but rather there are new ways to save one's life as I've already stated. Sorry I can't continue this discussion through e-mail. I choose for people not to e-mail me because I don't know their intentions. You know with computer viruses and all, they can be pretty nasty, lol.

Have a great day!

Like everyone else, I'm really not sure WHAT is allowed by the Watchtower these days when it comes to using blood or blood fractions. I do know that even though the WT will not allow a person to use his OWN blood - even if the person's conscience permits it - it does allow them to decide for themselves whether to accept blood 'fractions' made from the blood of OTHER people who donated their blood.

...(shaking my head in disbelief)....

I also know that at one time, a Watchtower publication said it would be preferable to have syphillis than to have an immunization. I would give the exact page and publication, but I would have to look it up, and Witnesses don't care anyway since that's "old light" . (Another word for spiritual darkness which at the time was called spiritual enlightenment.)

I searched and searched for Bible truth and wanted to find the true religion. First I read and studied the Bible and then looked into certain Religions and did a process of elimination. It was clear to me after praying to God many times that Jehovah's Spirit is upon Jehovah's Witnesses. Where are you trying to lead Jehovah's people? What religion or church do you attend now? You know what the Bible teaches, so do you think the religion you left the truth for is really the Organization God is using today? I would never leave Jehovah or his Son period !!! It's clear the Bible says to abstain from blood. The light gets brighter and brighter until the day draws near. I am not dedicated to a organization I am dedicated to Jehovah God, and his Kingdom ruled by Jesus Christ is our only hope. Jehovah's Spirit is upon his Witnesses today and the evidence is clear. Any honest humble person can see that.

The Scriptures have not changed, nor has Jehovah's Witnesses' respect for blood and for God's Word.

Jehovah's Witnesses have for many decades understood that adherence to Acts 15:20,28,29 and related bible principles meant that a true Christian would not "use" blood for any human purpose and would recognize that the bible command to 'abstain from "blood"' must logically include abstaining from components which seem theologically and reasonably equivalent, even if not medically synonymous.

Until 2000, the publications of Jehovah's Witnesses worked to conscientiously specify how and why a dozen or so different minor blood fractions might be considered to be affected or not affected by the bible command to 'abstain from blood'. As medical and scientific technology has progressed, it became clear that any list that could be compiled would be both incomplete and subject to constant change (based on secular research and pharmaceutical production methods).

A Pharisaical tendency would have moved a less godly organization to continue to maintain such a "list". Jehovah's Witnesses are certainly NOT Pharisaical, and so about 2000 the publications of Jehovah's Witnesses noted that Acts 15:20,28,29 undoubtedly applies to the use of whole blood, plasma, platelets, and red/white cells; that is, the Divine Author Jehovah God plainly wishes for humans and especially Christians to respect blood and to abstain from it and its major components. While the Christian Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses would no longer take any position for or against any minor blood fraction, each Christian was/is encouraged to follow his informed conscience.

This answer was typed fresh a couple of hours ago for this questioner's other (nearly identical) so-called "question".

I wouldn't count on them calling their elders murderers, they still got the deer caught in the headlights cult stare to them. They will probably make up some crap about how their loved ones who died were true witnesses of Jehovah or some such rot. All you can do is shake your head at such a stupid a** waste of human life. Hopefully God will be more merciful to them when they are being judged than they were to their loved ones who needed a blood transfusion to live, and died knowing that their cult and their family abandoned them on the premise of a false doctrine.

remember immunizations?

To Suzette R below me, please don't be a hater, it's unbecoming. Also, please don't tell me what I did or didn't do in my past. As one of those people you mention who "claim" to have been involved for years and years, I have the calluses on my rear end to prove I sat through all those meetings, and the blister mark scar on the pad of my forefinger from ringing doorbells selling those magazines.

I love being able to tell my story, so yes, as one who is no longer involved, I think this is a great forum to reach people who may be searching for answers and asking questions about JWs. Here is where they're able to get the other side of the story not told in the fairy tale propoganda of JW literature. A witnessing, of sorts. The WT can't gag the net, hallelujah!
