I am a Army wife in Germany. They close base after base, cause it is too expensive and complicated to train the soldiers here. From what I heard the Army will open bases in Poland and Romania.

I think so, if not, then maybe Poland who can use the hard currency our having bases there produces. Germany is the ideal location for placing both Army and Air Force units for NATO excercises and for occasional deployment if needed and to counter any future threat from the Russians and President Putin. Many eastern European countries would like our military based in their countries if nothing more than the economical boost it will their respective countries.

Very likely. We have a good relationship with Germany, and Ramstein Air Force base has an open-ended lease.

yes they make huge cash on the deal. Everytime a plane lands loaded with wounded from Iraq (at least 3 plane loads a day) they get a fee. They also provide medical services for the wounded. Neurosurgery and other subspecialty care.

Nobody knows really.
The Germans are able to defend themselves (from France and Poland ;-D I assume, because Russia is now became a friend of them).
So, one or another future German government may ask USA to leave.

All of the US bases will remain. There will probably be several more of them around the world by then...that it, if the world hasn't been destroyed by a nuclear war.

Hope not. It's way past time the Germans didn't believe their defense was an entitlement paid for by the U.S..
