Depends on where you itch and burn. Both signal an inflammation somewhere. Get it checked out.

Until it starts to smoke you are OK -- wash with cool water and unscented soap then towel dry only.
Go to the doctor if it continues past a few days.
(don't scratch or it will get infected)
