I've been there. He is right.
While they want to be home as well, they also understand the repercussions of leaving the job unfinished.
We are fighting Al-Qaeda there(now. I'm not saying that's why we went. Two different things). What caused us to begin fighting Al-Qaeda.

I don't think the president is right. First of all, we were promised the purpose of the war was to oust Saddam, give Iraq 'sovereignty' and install a constitution and a government. We have done that but the war is not over. We were told this would take 'six days, six weeks, I doubt six months' but it's been longer than 4 years. We've been told all along that progress was being made, but it clearly isn't. NOW we're being told we're fighting Al Quaeda, but there were no terrorists in Iraq before we invaded--not a single suicide bombing in Iraq before.

The thing that makes a good manager is the ability to recognize a mistake, to recognize when something isn't working and to come up with a new plan. I have never heard anyone in the administration do this. They don't say 'Well, thsi didn't work, so now we're going to try THIS'. Instead they insist over and over that everything is fine, that the original plan is working, when it clearly is not.

The last six months have been the bloodiest since we started the war! That's not what I'd call 'making progress'. After four years of assuring us that we're making steady progress, Bush is now saying we're just -beginning- to make progress. What's up with that?

Also its official now, we now have more 'contractors' in Iraq (mercenary soldiers) than real soldiers.

Under the circumstances I don't see any justification for losing 10 more American lives a week and wasting 12 billion dollars a month. More and more Americans are seeing it this way, and Republican leaders in Congress are even beginning to distance themselves from Bush's failure.

Whether we bring the troops home or not, the conflict in Iraq will continue for years if not decades.

So, the only issue is whether we start bringing them home now, or we start bringing them home in 18 months when the next person is in office.

Leaving them there doesn't accomplish anything -- as has been clearly proven by the last three years, and the continued increase in violence the longer they remain.

I have been there many of times that I know for a fact that if we stay the only progress we will make is filling body bags. This war is lost and are stuck in a middle of a civil war. Bush is retarded, he just does not want to admit that he screwed up and wont save more troops lives because his pride is at stake. You can make all the excuses for that man but it comes down to it money and the fact that he messed up and wont man up to it. He blames everyone else for the war problems and he has not once said he made a mistake. In latest polls his approval rating is 15% percent. The public voted that 54 percent want Dick chaney to be impeached and 56 want bush impeached.I am with them,I am sure you all read my last argument about this but just in case read here.

I have been there a few times since being in and it depends on who you ask,you will get people who are totally against the war and will say anything to make their point and others who keep it professional and say what they able to say with out causing more trouble. We where sent over there to free a people that never really liked us in the first place because they view us as infidels trying to force our way of life on them. Now you will see people say its all for oil or its to free a people. Well yes and no for both of them. No war that the US has fought was not just for help a country but as well as profit, polictical game and that makes the US the savor for a country.Bush has not been the most honest person in our presidental history,is he making money off this war as well as his administraction in some shape or form. Good chance yes, this adminstoraction is pretty corrept as it goes for be honest with the us public. Are we winning the war,not even close. Its not even a war anymore its more of a police action that we are in the middle of thats holding the country togeather. The Iraq troops that we train and work with are not to be trusted 75 percent of the time because we have found connection to insurgents are paying them for intel on training ect.The people are Iraq are getting tired of us being there and they feel that we are controlling their government and in most cases we are, their government is far from ready to take over and the best thing to do is pull out and let thi civil war that we are stuck right dab in the middle in to cool off and let god sort it out. They have been fighting against each other for a hundreds of years like this and the image is burnged into their childrens minds. We have many problems will kids throwing gernades into truck when driving down the roads or parents having their kids straped with a explosive vest and sending him to us at check points. This war will not get better it can only get worse.Have we made it better for them yes if we can get their government to work with its people and if the people respect the government. Untill then we are just another person on strings involed in another puppet government. Our government has made billions off this war selling oil and contracts to companys working in the country, its another vietnam war and its going to take sadly many more lifes and congress to get the political heads out of thei a $ $ and do their jobs for once and not worry about their image to get us out of this war

this is my opinion ..... I don't want other innocent people in those countries to suffer and die and get injured. But I don't want our soldiers to suffer and die and get injured either. So I want them home so that they don't get hurt over there, yet I want them over there so that we can just win this stupid war, and stop the torchering of innocent people. And I also want our soldiers to come home for the simple fact that, I don't want to hear the goverment and all those types of people complain of how we are spending to much many or anything. That's there fault if we are. (btw, I don't know if they are complaining about the money or anything, I'm just making the statement)

Liberals blame Bush for not thinking of the post-invasion repercussions.

I blame Liberals for not thinking about the cut and run repercussions.
