I used to feel the same way until I stopped caring about things that I cant control and focus on my future goals. This sounds so much like me I used to listent o music 24/7 to get over things. My mind wonders so much it's like every minute i think about something. The only thing that can help you is if u make some chnages in your life for the better although it's hard eliminate stressful things and dont dwell on things u cant fix. PRAY PRAY PRAY! Ask God to lift ur spirit and give wisdom and happiness. Some of the things we think abou tarent important and really dont matter. Focus on making yourself a better person and things will brighten up.

I suggest you stop listening to the music and start figuring out your issues.

It sounds like you are just tuning out instead of taking responsibility for your life. Dealing with what ever comes up is part of life, mature adults learn how to cope.

Counseling helps give you the tools to cope, YOU however, are the one that needs to take those tools and do something with them. The counselor doesn't wave a magic wand and makes your life happy and sweet.

I suggest you get real, be honest with yourself. Take an realistic look at your life; do you make good, well-thought out decisions? Or are you a "shoot from the hip" sort? Do you think ahead about what consequences your actions will bring? Or don't you really care but live in the moment?

You can change your life, you have the power to do that. I hope you can be honest with yourself, that is a good start.

Sometimes it is just out of your control. The chemicals in our body are so complicated and can get thrown off by the smallest things. Medication can help regulate the chemicals. A lot of people aren't big fans of medication because of the stigma that comes along with it. But if someone opts to suffer with depression because of the stigma I think they are the ones that are crazy! I would rather be happy even if it means popping pills.
also, get involved in activities that make you happy and surround yourself with positive people. Good luck sweetheart!

Exercising can help stimulate the release of endorphins (in the brain), giving a feeling of what is a "natural high."
Excessive stress helps cause depression, so if you could think less about very serious subjects, that may help.
(I'm somewhat of a pessimist, but I am told, "we can choose to be happy." I must try harder...)

This is the choice, as you know....

You can continue to distract yourself.... or.... Face what it is you're running from.
