The Smart Card is merely the beginning! I feel as if it will come to a point in which a microchip based on the Smart Card technology will be embedded in the "right hand or forehead" just as the Scripture says. This is due to the fact that fraud would still be a big possibility with the Card due to loss, theft and etc. With the microchip, someone would have to assault or even KILL you to get your information. Once your DEATH was reported, the appropriate steps would be taken to deactivate your chip! Remember, the Antichrist is cloaking this deception with "convenience" so it will be easy for people to fall prey to it when the time comes. To make matters worse, after a time, it will be FORCED upon you as a means of weeding out the converted believers since "no one will be able to buy or sell, save he have THE MARK". In other words, YOU WILL DIE without it, either by the wrath of the Antichrist or by deprivation from societal needs (clothing, food, and etc.) becasue you won't be able to get a job to provide those things since you've seen through the Antichrists' deception and have refused the Mark! Don't worry, the Smart Card won't send you to Hell, but it's future descendant will...... I firmly beleive that Revelation and it's writings concerning the advent of the 666 mark are coming to pass. Don't get me wrong, even though I believe it, I think that it's man's increasingly evil nature that's bringing this about! Granted, God could literally create the things John described in his writings for the sole purpose of fulfilling end time prophecy, but remember, John was a man living 1,900+ years ago being asked to write about technological marvels that he couldn't begin to comprehend, using things from his time with which he was familiar. Despite the cryptic way it reads, I'd say he did a wonderful job! How would YOU describe the explosion of a nuclear weapon if you lived 1,900 years ago? I'd say the "fire, blood and hail flung to the earth, and vapor of smoke" would be pretty accurate when one considers the conditions present in a nuclear explosion!

No, it may be a precursor though. The Antichrist will be on the scene and the most powerful man on Earth when people are required to take the mark. You wont be able to buy or sell without it, but are damned if you take it. Since the Antichrist hasn't begun power yet, that is not the mark of the beast.

I don't think that anything is the mark of the beast, unless it's intentionally labeled 666 just to get xtian's blood pressure to rise.

Notice that the mark ( of the beast and those that are saved) is on the hand and on the forehead. Symbols of action(hand) and thought( forehead). I believe the marks of a Christian and those who are unbelievers will be (as they are now) their thoughts and their actions)

Yes it is, don't get one.

My feelings are:
Revalations - That guy took acid or shrooms or something good but that's pretty much it.
666 - Divisible by 2,3,6,9 and a whole lot of idiots have ideas about it

Why should it be? Technology isn't something to be feared; if it were, it's a mortal sin for you to be typing on the computer and asking questions on the evil internets...
