You just can't wait for the end of the world, can you? You really want to believe it's the end time.
Boy are you going to be disappointed.
You realize the scripture you quoted was meant to be fulfilled in that generation, don't you? People were scoffing and persecuting Christians 2000 years ago, feeding them to lions - they thought the end would come in their time, did the end come?

Keep in mind that Christians attack atheism as vocally and insultingly as atheists attack Christians and in roughly the same proportions.
Remember that Paul was a Roman who wanted Christians to be trained to suffer and to be unreceptive to any teachings other than his own so that Christianity could be molded into a state religion under the control of the Roman Empire. This doctrine has been recently validated by the Pope.
Jesus said, "Turn the other cheek" yet many Christians on this site seem to forget that.

I feel you've lost your own argument simply because you defaulted to the Christian pastime of pasting quotes from the Bible. It's as though you've never read another book in your life, and certainly aren't open-minded enough to question the existence of a God. Presumably because that is what you have been told to believe since childhood.
And yes, lately atheists are attacking religion for what it is. A manipulative, controlling form of brainwashing which affects people in different ways. And some of these ways are evil, just look at the world around you.
You are a victim of this, and your gullible quoting of the Bible only confirms our belief about religion

I can't drink. I am an recovering atheist.
I love Stym's answer.
I am a follower of Christ, But Cmon, girl, Aren't you just asking for it?
Atheism isn't an attack on religion. It is a lack of concern for it. Some Atheist (as stated before) really are Agnostic and may be willing to listen/debate/ argue religious values. But if you are Atheist, why should I be concerned? I can agree to differ in the subject and still treat you with respect as a human being. No one is the better.

People try to call me an Atheist because i am a non-believer. Not all non-believers are Atheist. I personally have no problems or anything negative to say about people who wish to lead a "Godly" lifestyle. Unfortunately a large amount of people who claim to live this lifestyle don't even come close to the ways of God. I have found that most religious people are less tolerant and more judging than people that simply just don't believe. Asking people to admit that they are fulfilling the scriptures of the bible that your particular faith believes to be true is quite offensive to me. I would never push my beliefs onto you and i only ask in return that you not push yours onto me. This aggressive attitude of religion is why there have been more unnecessary wars and murders in the name of someones God than than for any other reason.

Well, sure... but the con-men who wrote that stuff didn't have to be 'prophets' to successfully predict that smart, rational people would never fall for such idiotic crap. Here... perhaps this bit of scripture might clarify things for you. Some things DON'T mean exactly what they say, and need to be 'spiritually discerned'. Take 1 Corinthians, for example:
1:21 For after that in the wisdom of God the world by wisdom knew not God, it pleased God by the foolishness of preaching to save them that believe.
1:22 For the Jews require a sign, and the Greeks seek after wisdom:
1:23 But we preach Christ crucified, unto the Jews a stumblingblock, and unto the Greeks foolishness;
1:24 But unto them which are called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power of God, and the wisdom of God.
Under the guidance of the Holy Spirit, that is very easy to interpret. Here we have a scam artist, trying to build an MLM organization, and trying to educate his victims on how to sort out the ideal types of NEW victims from those who will immediately see through the scam. He is essentially telling his potential recruits to focus their efforts on people who are as dumb or dumber than themselves... otherwise, they will just get laughed at. He is trying to convince them that stupidity and gullibility are virtues. It worked very well. It's a good thing, though, that these recruits did not know anything about scripture... otherwise, bits like Ecclesiastes, Proverbs, etc. might have presented a bit of a problem... stuff like:
15:2 The tongue of the wise useth knowledge aright: but the mouth of fools poureth out foolishness.
3:35 The wise shall inherit glory: but shame shall be the promotion of fools.
2:14 The wise man's eyes are in his head; but the fool walketh in darkness.
"I am treated as evil by Christians, who claim that they are being persecuted because they are not allowed to force me to practice what they do." ~ D. Dale Gulledge

im not atheist im a true believer in the gospel of Jesus ,Jesus said to the religious people of that time that their father in the church is the devil.Today the people want to put Jesus in the middle of their religion.I agree with the atheists about religion
by many teachers was meant the different churches and they will gather behind them like sheep ,and the true teachings they will leave behind.I will say that atheists will have a better chance to be saved than christians that ate clinging unto false doctrines

Put the martyr complex away, please.
The fact that people reject your religion is *not* a point in favor of it being true.
My atheism is that I don't believe in gods. That I am harsh with (some) religions is just the cherry on top. I'd still be atheist without it. However, I will continue to be harsh partly because I'm somewhat bitter about how I was raised (and some of the terrible things I said and did because of that) and also because the religious continue to threaten our culture and educational institutions.

Bah. There are as many different types of answers as there are people. Some men are rapists, but using your logic, every human with a Y-Chromosome is a sexual deviant on-the-ready to assault ladies left and right.
As a whole, any follower of religion (or lack thereof) that is so rigidly set in his or her ways as to broke no possible argument or alternative perspective is a pain in the butt. Athiest, Catholic, Mormon, Muslim, Tree-hugging-green-toad-worshipper. Believe what you believe but leave me the (dare I say it?) hell out of it.
BTW, some Agnostic folks are mislabled as Athiests, which is a shame. They neither believe nor disbelieve in any organized concept, but are open to learning.

I have and old issue of Sgt. Rock in which Sgt. Rock takes part in a D-Day preliminary expedition with British commandoes a year before the real D-Day. Was he fulfilling any scriptures?
It's just as silly a concept, my friend.
