I am a Christian woman, who is divorce and now remarried. . .happily I might add :). I left my husband because of abuse. I did not look for a rule in my Bible that told me I could or could not. . . .I left for my life. Apparently, now that I am remarried I am committing adultery. . . .personally I believe my God wants me to enjoy my days and my life. . .so that is what I do. . .although many are eager to condemn me to hell. . . oh well. . . .I'm just gonna let God be my judge He knows me best.

Read Matthew 5:31-32.
Generally what you said is true--the passage above may help also. Other passages on marriage/divorce/remarriage--
Malachi 2:16;Matthew 19:8;Mark 10:11-12;Mark 10:2:Luke 16:18;I Corithians 7--the whole chapter

There are Biblical grounds for divorce. When reading the Bible as a standard of faith and practice, it is important to apply sound principles of interpretation, and to not take things out of context (i.e. reading one sentence without the context).
Jesus was condeming the practice of the Pharisees who could "divorce" their wife over things as simple as messing up the dinner, and were proclaiming themselves righteous. This statement was attacking the trivializing of marriage and divorce amongst the faithful (thank God we don't do THAT today... :)

The bible is very very dated. It contradicts itself on what you are saying, it says that you must not remarry but then later on it says if the husband is not happy then you may remarry on his terms (he decides if you divorce or not).
So basically the correct answer is: Yes, No.
Maybe ask God for Bible version 2.0?

When you divorce and have sex with your 2nd spouse it is considered adultry. The other spouse, on the other hand, because they did not marry and have sex first, is not commiting adultry because their spouse committed adultry on them. It gets confusing. There are a lot of Christian/religious people out there who are divorced and remarried. It is between them and God. It is best to work things out no matter what and stay married.

True. Marriage is a covanent not meant to be broken (unless under certain circumstances acknowledged by God.) It doesn't even have to be the act of committing adultery..When a man/woman lust in his/her heart he/she has committed adultery....

That's right. A valid Christian marriage is an act of God. A divorce is an act of the state. No civil act can "undo" an act of God. "What God has joined together no man must separate".

Yes unless the divorce was because the partner committed adultry themselves. In that case divorce is sanctioned by God

Does that take in cases of abuse? How about when the spouse is sentenced to life in prison without parole? How about when the spouse suffers a catastrophic health crisis that renders him or her incapable of interacting with the world around them?
