You can view (but not alter or edit) a PowerPoint by downloading (free) the PowerPoint Viewer from Microsoft at the link below.
If you need to edit PowerPoints, I believe that the Presentation Program in OpenOffice will open PowerPoints. Just search for OpenOffice - it's open source and totally free but it is a full office-type suite so is a large download.

Search for a powerpoint viewer. It is free in windows office home page (best place to be downloaded). With this software you can view any powerpoint presentation and print it, but you can't edit it or create a new presentation.

you can try to convert ppt to flash or video, and opened the resulting flash or video for viewing. By this way you can view the content of the ppt file without PowerPoint Viewer. I have done this , And I found aniamations, music, transitions and other special effects of PPT have remained.

Go to Microsoft's "Download" web page and download the Power Point "Reader".

You can upload it to pdfonline.com.

They will convert the file to a pdf and email it back to you. Then you should be able to read it just fine (assuming you can open pdf).
