First of all she needs to be brushed every day to remove the loose hairs. Suppliments are available to reduce shedding such as fatty acids and other skin conditioners. There is also a shampoo called 'shed stop'. The link below is to a company that makes and sell all sorts of suppliments. They are vets and are available on certain weekdays to answer your questions by phone. Keep in mind that shedding is seasonal and is normal. There are some very handy tools to clean up the hair too. You can reduce the amout of falling hair but you will never eliminate the shedding completely unless you get a non-shedding breed like a maltese. These and a few other breeds have hair instead of fur and you must give them haircuts occaisionally and still must brush. Hope this helps and hope you have many happy years with your pet.

There is nothing u can give her to stop shedding. The only thing you can do is brush her outside constantly. You can buy a brush that gets the top coat and under coat at a pet store that really does help. Just brush your dog every day and the shedding shouldn't be 2 bad. My grandma got that brush for her dog and now she isnt that bad at all! Good Lcuk! Dont wash her because that dries out the skin and you have to deal w/ a lot of wet fur that smells. Alos, dont get her shaved because dogs use their coat as insulation to keep them cool or warm. As for your house, vacumme and sweep constantly!

There are now products on the market i.e., pills that you can give your dog to slow the shedding process. You CAN'T stop it. If your dog is prone to shedding the BEST thing you can do is BRUSH BRUSH BRUSH. Pets are time consuming. If you don't have time you might consider a professional groomer.
Good Luck.
ps. The other thing to invest in is a good vacuum cleaner. Sometimes I vacuum 3 or 4 times a day depending on the time of year. I have a Great Pyrenees mix

All mammals shed (even the so-called "no shedding" dogs).
Shaving her will just mean she'll shed shorter (and often coarser) hair.
There are no magic pills or medicines to make her stop shedding.
Daily brushing will help control the shedding. Buy a furminator:

to help keep the shedding under control.

1] brush her every day, outside - be sure to use the proper tool for length and type of her hair - don't wear your good clothes for this!
2] feed her a good quality food - the pet store has all kinds of products for dogs that shed, aging, fat, etc.
3] buy a supplement or treat for shedding, and give to her right after grooming
4] call your vet's office and ask what supplement or food they recommend for this.
TIP:
a] supermarket is cheapest, and frequently lowest quality food - bigger stores will have better selection
b] pet store foods cost more, but are good for 'problem' pets
c] vet office foods cost the most!

Feeding a high quality food can help with that, but it will not eliminate the problem. Feeding a BARF diet, or something like Canidae. Daily brushing will also help.

Brush her everyday. Give her a bath at least 2-3 times a week, put babyoil in the water if her skin gets dry.
Good Luck!!!!
