Jessica honey , you're still young . I know that you feel like you're mature at 16 , because I was 16 only 4 years ago . You need to really think about what I'm going to say here . This guy you're dating , ASKED you to have sex with him . That usually means that once you do , he's going to break up with you . You need to tell him no and wait until you're atleast 18 . I think you should wait until you're 18 , simply because I feel that you would be able to better handle any situtation that may occur from having sex . Pregnancy isn't the only thing . There are STD's HIV and it also comes with A LOT of emotions . I really don't think that you want to deal with that at your age . Not that you couldn't handle it , just that it would be a lot on you . Now , keep in mind that you haven't mentioned that you love each other , and even so , you really don't know for sure if you want to marry this boy . If you waitied until you found that guy that you DO want to marry , and that you KNOW you will marry , then he would feel so special , and you would feel so much better . Sometimes past partners cause a lot of issues in a relationship . Jessica , I think that you should wait . BUT to answer your question , your chances of getting pregnant are quite high . If you choose to do it , then I suggest you go on birth control , AND make sure you use condoms. It will lessen , but only lessen , your chance of getting pregnant . And remember , birth control does NOT protect against HIV or STD's . I hope you make the right choice . .
best of luck .

I don't know the percentage of actual pregnancies that occur from a 16 year old having sex, but I know the possibility of getting pregnant when you are having unprotected sex is 100%. And while we are on the subject, why would you consider having unprotected sex, anyway? Not only would you be having sex with your boyfriend, but also with everyone he has ever had sex with. If you don't know where that thing has been, you had better cover it up! By the way, I hope you decide against having sex, yet.

This is a serious question that cannot simply be answered with percentages. With protection there is less of a chance of you getting pregnant. However, if you don't use protection there is a HUGE possibility of getting pregnant. UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES should you give in to this boy because HE wants to have sex. This is a big decision for you. You should wait it out and discuss your question with a local clinic. DO NOT FEEL embarrassed. Many people have questions and go. But know that if you decide to have sex with him, both of you may create a third party without the proper precautions. Good luck with your decision.

Well there is a high percentage if you have sex you could get pregnate, and trust me you dont want a baby now. There is so much in life that you have yet to experience. Why would you have sex with him? Do you think you love him? If so then why not wait? Whats the rush? Pregnancy is not the worst that can happen, STD's baby gurl can last more than 18yrs of raising a child and condoms do not prevent them all. Most of the time guys don't even know they have them. you should really consider this: if he respects you, loves you or cares he can wait. And this may sound crude but if he needs it bad enough he can 'fix' it himself. 16 is such a tender age and trust me its not worth it. Sex is ok- but its not all the media makes it out to be.

Since you are not 100% sure that you want to do this, as evidenced by your question and hesitation, you should really think hard about whether you want to give a very vital part of who you are to this person - do you see yourself with him long term or is he just a bump in the road of life on your way to a new horizons? No one can give you a percentage on your chances of becoming pregnant. Using condoms decreases your chances but condoms are not 100% safe either. They reduce the chance you will contract a sexually transmitted disease (STD) but not totally eliminate it. Your only sure fire way to guarantee no pregnancy or STD is to remain celibate. If possible talk to a ob-gyn or midwife about these issues (face to face talks are always better) you can tell your mom you are having "female problems" cramps or heavy bleeding or something and get an appointment - the appointment has to be confidential so they can't tell your mom what is said or done. Good luck and God Bless.

First of all don't do it if your not sure about it even if you like this guy. If hes your boyfriend and you know him very well and if you're willling to take the risk and have sex with him its all up to yOU. And ofcourse not you won't get pregnant if he uses condoms i'll give you 0%of not getting pregnant but if he doesn't than i will give you 100% of chances of not just you anybody of getting pregnant. Never do sex with out it not only to prevent of getting pregnant but also to prevent of getting infections.Think about it its your life your decision.

Do not have sex at all - you are too young and the possibilities of you getting pregnant without protection or even with protection are TOO HIGH. You are only 16 you should be thinking about the new school year and your future. Tell this guy to take a hike.

no one can give you a percentage. you just have to make a decision. now make sure you are protected. make him wear a condom! and i think you should put yourself on another form of birth control. i.e. the pill. i have been on the pill since i was 14. im 18 now and although i was not having sex through all those years, i still have yet to get pregnant. so if you choose to do this guy, make sure your protected and then go to a clinic and tell them you are sexually active or wish to be and you need some sort of birth control. maybe if your parents are reasonable enough you can ask them. i asked my mom before i started having sex if she would put me on the pill. she was not happy about me needing birth control (something about her 'baby' growing up lol) but she did it anyway because she was happy i came to her when i thought i needed it. so about the guy.......that is a tough choice that only you can make. but if your protected your chances of getting pregnant go down. so make sure your careful.

If you're not 100% comfortable with it, don't do it. The likelihood of you getting pregnant depends a lot on what form of birth control you use, if any at all. Obviously if you don't use any form of contraceptives, there's a much higher risk. I personally think 16 is too young in the first place, but I'm not here to preach.

Well, It varies depending on the time of month intercourse takes place and what contraceptive devices are used properly. With the most common form of contraceptive, the condom, there is only a .1-.5% chance of getting pregnant, with birth control alone, there is a 3% chance. The only sure way to prevent pregnancy and STD's is to remain abstinent, but that is a personal choice. If you decude to be sexually active, just be wise and protect yourselves.
