I am 13 almost 14 and I am redecorating my bedroom. I know im getting carpet, most likely white. I need a new bed, tv wall mount and decorations. The most important thing is the paint. I have a very small room so for the bed I either want a futon or my mom thinks I should get a loft bed, to give me more room.

For the paint color I don't just want one color. I want designs, stripes, polka dots things like that. I'm not sure what colors look best together.

My favorite colors are Pink, purple, blue, and fun colors. I would rather not have my room blue, thats what it is now.

Things I like:
hollister
summer
coach

I'm girly so I want something fun.

PLEASE HELP ME!
I want my room to be super nice!

CONSIDER: all the things you do in your room -
8 - 9 hours at school
8 hours sleeping
3 - 4 hours studying [ we can only hope! ]
1 - 2 hours getting ready for school and ready for bed
1 - 2 hours reading
1 - 2 hours watching TV
2 - 3 hours on meals, chores, miscellaneous [ out of room ]
1] get a loft bed - you can put your desk or dresser underneath. Don't get a futon - they are rarely comfortable.
a] Consider the fact you will be studying more in high school, so make your desk area pleasant, with storage for supplies,
graded papers you may reference later, book resources [ dictionary , and shelving, etc.
b] you will probably also spend a lot of time primping in high school - so be sure to have storage for clothing, and toiletries, jewelry, hair accessories, etc.
2] buy furniture that matches as much as possible - different woods or finishes break up the flow, making the room appear smaller.
3] pick one or two colors you really like - or a print you like, and pull one or two colors from that.
a] use print for bedding, curtains, and pillows.
b] add a cozy reading chair that matches or is neutral, and throw a pillow on it, maybe an afghan or quilt.
c] use a trunk for storage [ out of season clothes ], and as a table by reading chair
d] use dividers on closet shelves - can store winter hats, gloves, scarves/handbags/sweaters or Ts/summer hats, totes, and cover ups.
e] get shoe racks for bottom of closet. Put all winter/closed toe shoes at same end as gloves, scarves; and put sandals, open toes, etc. at same end as sun hats and coverups.
f] add some photos, pictures, or posters all framed in same or similar material [ oak or walnut, brass or silver, enamel ]
Don't forget a mirror across from window, or on longest wall
g] add some candles, vase for dried flowers or pot for fake plant, desk or dresser set.
HOLLISTER:
sky blue walls, deck chair with cushions for reading, palm tee lamp, tropical print bedding, mosquito net curtains; scatter
starfish, shells and beach glass around room as accessories
[ large conch shell planter, starfish paperweight, fishing net on wall with fake crab, or mermaid in ]

Hi, my daughter is turning 13 in a month..and we worked to decorate her room.....we painted it a soft pink...and then did teal(more green than blue teal) and purple stripes.....and then on one wall...the one with her bed...we did white polka dots.....she got a futon and we got her a black and white bed set....and had curtions made with the same polka dots, and found throw rugs with black, white and pink dots on it.....I went to the dollar store and found figurines that were polka dots, and picture frames.......then we also did some striped things......it looks really great...and didnt cost that much.

Good luck

PS we got her a full size mirror....and made it black and on the back we added a whole collage of pictures of her and her friends and family...so one side is a mirror and the other a picture board.

I had a loft bed as a teen with a desk underneath and I loved it. I'd go that route, especially if you have a small room because it will take up less space because you don't have a bed and a desk both on the floor in different spots.

Since others are commenting on various things I will comment on paint color....pink and lime green are FABULOUS together...I would not just stick with pastels and do fly in the face of dark makes things look small....I've seen a chocolate brown accent wall with pale yellow opposing walls look absolutely huge! It might be a good idea, if you want polka dots...go with small round mirrors...oh! paint your wall pink, with lime green dots with mirrors for the center of your polka dots! Do this on one wall, and the 3 other walls, paint 2 pink and one green or two green and one pink...enjoy your new room and the reflection from the mirrors!

Your colors should work good in your room....just keep in mind to stay in the pastel colors since your room is small.
The Darker the colors are, the smaller your room will look.
Also, make sure that you don't make it look so busy, because I guarantee you will end up getting sick of looking at your wall.

I suggest using "Faux" painting or "Sponge" painting....that way you could mix your favorite colors. Good luck decorating! :)
