When everything is going your way, there is no growth. It's like a river just flowing. There is no need for bigger or better things, until an obstacle is met. Then and only then is there work to do. The river does not stop because the boulder is in the way. It finds a way around and eventually eats away at it and manages to move or destroy it.

To me this means that life's trials and tribulations are meant to make us stronger. These are the learning times in our lives and when we approach adversity with the right attitude we come out of it better for it, for we are not only stronger for having experienced the difficulty, but we most often walk away with a valuable lesson learned.
