Ok Im assuming you want the truth...
If I were single and 30, I probably wouldnt seriously date a 21 year old. They are just too immature to seriously date. That doesnt mean I wouldnt keep one around as a "non serious" toy.

I did...for a little while.
The problem is that it's tough to have much in common. For example, my favorite musician was someone she had never HEARD of!
He's probably not so old that your friends will think he's REALLY old unless you tell them his age. And you're probably not Sooo young that his friends will think you're illegal or anything.
WAIT! I MISREAD YOUR QUESTION!!! You asked if it would be unusual for a 30 year old man to take interest in you!!! My dear, a 30 year old man takes interest in all women from the age of 18 until....dunno...45, if the 45 year old has a young attitude. A 21 year old (at least for a while) would be very exciting!!!

It would not be at all unusual to be physically attracted to a woman 21 when you are 30. It is a little unusual to be emotionally and mentally on the same level though. But it's not impossible. It depends on each of your maturity levels and so on. If the two of you click then I think its great. But just remember that you may think it's more than it is because he may only be physically attracted while you may be looking for something more.

It's all relative. I've met 30 year olds that acted like 18 and 20 year olds that acted like 30. Unusual? Not really. As you know looks play a big role in people's choices.
Good luck and mahalo!

Unusual? No. I was 31 and dated a 21 year old for several months. We're still friends 4 years later though we spend less time together.
If you're interested in him, let him know. If you're not, let him know. Simple rule.

No, I would not. Why? Because those nine years of difference at YOUR age makes a world of difference in interests, unless he tends to have younger than his age interests and you tend to have older than your age interests.
Compatibility is not only about love and sex. Enjoyment of mutual interests is also quite important. Of course, this changes quite a bit as years pass, since (as an example) a 40 year old and a 49 year old would likely have many common interests.

what the hell, date, try it out. If it doesnt work then so be it. If it does thats good. How else do you determine if you have common interests or not. I have dated people my age that i did not have common interests with so age is not really that big of a deal.

As a man with two sister in laws that are in their early forties that married men in the early sixties, I would say that it is possible.
What makes me laugh is that I am in my early fifties, and I think that I am too OLD for them!

I agree with acermill.....My hubby is 32, Im 20 and the only reason we work is because he is really immature, and I am VERY mature for our ages........ It all depends on the people I suppose.
