Myself and my bf are looking at going on a cruise to Greece\Rome tc next year, but i am having a problem frinding a place in Canada that the cruise would depart to. To me it is pointless to fligh over to Greece and get on the cruise.

I am wondering if anyone knows anything about a cruise over there that would depart in Canada..

Thanks for any help!

There are no cruise departure ports in Canada other than Vancouver for cruises to Alaska. For a cruise to the Med you will need to fly to one of the countries that has a departure port. You can find cruise line departure ports on their web sites.

We took our cruise of the Eastern Med, which went to Villafranche, Florence/Pisa, Italy, Rome, Naples, Athens, Greece, Mykonos and Santorini, Greece and Turkey, and it departed from Barcelona Spain. There are also cruises that depart from Italy.

Several cruise lines do the Mediterranian, Royal Caribbean, Holland America, Celebrity, Princess and Norwegian are the ones that I recommend. I liked our itinerary best as it allowed us to see all of the historic places in the Med, like the Vatican and Colleseum in Rome, Pompei in Naples, the Parthenon in Greece and Ephesus in Turkey.

Some cruises leave from or end in Venice, Italy; they are one way rather than round trip. If you do not fly/like to fly then you can take a cruise from NY to Spain and then take a second cruise of the Med from there. But then you would have to take a third cruise back home.

Why would you want to waste your valuable time crossing the Atlantic on a ship to get to Greece. I was on a cruise out of Venice to the eastern Med. this spring. Stopped at 3 Greek ports, 1 in Turkey and 3 in Italy----Fantastic in spring

You can do a couple of searches on internet travel websites or go to a specific cruise line's website. I was just doing a bunch of searches this morning and you're right, No major cruise line left from Canada. Depending on whey you live, the nearest major cruise port was New York/New Jersey.
