Funny that you should mention global warming. I just finished photoshoping my "evil chipmunk" avatar with the after effects of global warming in the background; flooding.

Sadly yes, certain mainstream religions actually promote the "end of the world", they don't care what happens to Earth because they think it's supposed to end anyways. In fact, some even work to make the apocalypse happen sooner!

I don't know because i was always caught in between the whole Religion v.s Siecne ordeal,I might not be a firm believer of the religious pratice but i do believe that some effects of global warming is a result of religion some signs off the global warming as we know it is also known as THE LAST DAYS,but in the science world global warming is the effect of the whole in the ozone layer that allows the suns rays and heat to enter but not exit,so im not sure myself

well, I'm more experienced in the evangelic to post-evangelic experience. so i can only really answerer to that branch of religion.

but i would say yes, definitely. have we not been given this planet as a stewardship. if i borrowed a car for a long time i would hat to give it back w/ a busted radiator, i share my love for those around me by giving love the planet they must live on, i could keep going on and on, about the steward ship issue, but I've got more ground to cover

Eco groups are characterized by non-"religious" people (in general) i would call that a mission field, if for nothing else i would get green just to be able to invest in those people who need God as much as I do, but haven't identified that hunger yet. God loves the planet, he created it, he wants a nice environment for all his children, cares for all the plants and animals, he loves the world more then we possible can, so communicating that most "green" people already love a lot like God loves, and is already on the right track, they just need the power of God to fill there sails to carry them where they can not go is the charge for Christians.

so have a nice after noon, love a friend, love a planet

I am having an awesome day, thanks.

No, I do not believe in the theories surrounding global warming.
And I do not understand what being a Christian, who follows & believes in Jesus Christ could have to do global warming theories.

And after reading the historical Farmer's Almanac for my area, the annual temperatures, & the rainfall quotients has not changed much at all in almost 300 years.

There very likely wouldn't be global warming, pollution, and gasoline shortages if the people of the world kept the Christian Sabbath.

Global warming itself has nothing to do with religion. The acknowledgment of global warming, however, is a setback for any creation theories. So that may be the reason why religion has decided that it has something to do with global warming.

Sure does.

There's no conclusive proof, and yet people take it on faith that a) it exists, b) it was caused by humans, and c) it can be reversed. I agree that pollution is bad, but I have enough knowledge of the history of science to recognize the difference between science, politics, and herd-mentality.

I've seen comments from religious people that use global warming as an indicator that we're experiencing End Times, so there's another connection.

Only "accidentally."

You see, the GOP has co-opted Christianity in America. And the GOP also has the energy industry in its back pocket. Hence, Republican lemmings are told that global warming is a "myth," and they believe it in exactly the same way they believe the Christian yarn - because their respected "authorities" told them to believe it.

That's also why so many supposed "Christians" are also gun-nuts (NRA) and pro-death-penalty, etc etc. All their opinions come pre-packaged, and they simply lack the wherewithal to perceive how wildly contradictory they are.

If you are of the Earth worshipping variety it does!

The Christians would not be happy if we trashed the yards of their churches and burned them down. That is how we feel about the disrespect of our dear Earth Mother today!

Nature is our sanctuary!
