I'm following up on a question I did a couple days ago. I think you can go to Heaven no matter what religion you are. You can even make it as an agnostic (I'm not going to go as far as to say athiest anymore even though I think it might be possible for athiests to make it too) as far as I'm concerned if you're a good person. People continually quote this as their argument for why you have to accept Jesus as your "personal savior" to get to heaven. "I am the way,the truth and the life. No one comes through the father except through me." This could also mean that if you accept the father you've done it through the son whether you believe he's the Messiah or not. It can be read both ways. There is also a bible passage (I don't know what passage and I don't know the exact quote) that says something to the extent of, "If you're not against me you're with me." So this means, if you do good things, you're not going against Jesus which in turn means that you're on his side. What do you think?

I completely 100% agree with you and wished more people saw it like we do. My belief is that God loves all His children and will not condem them to Hell just because they are of another religion. There are hundreds of religions in the world and whos to say one is correct and the rest are going to Hell? Plus it would make no sense because only 1/8 of the world is Christian, I dont think God wants to send the other 7/8 to Hell because they "got it wrong."

All dogs and most people , just teasing.

Actually there is a verse in the New Testament and I'm not a bible scholar so I can't quote exact chapter and verse, that says in my father's house there many mansions.

Now the way it was explained to be by a very nice elic minister is that it meant there was room for all religions and philosophies since all are created by God himself.

Don't think that'll satisfy the atheists amongst us but that's how I like to think of it .

I know I'll see my Jewish , Hindi, Bhuddist , B'Hai etc. friends when we all go to heaven.

I believe it is predestination that determines where you will go.

I believe that the Lord created us and planned our path through this life guiding us to His chosen place for us.

In the old tetament King David sent his neighbour to war in the frontline so he was killed and King David could marry his neighbours wife. King David is a murderer and he made it to Heaven.

Define "Good Things".

You could be the nicest most saintly person and still go to hell because in your heart you don't really believe in the Lord. As they say "The Road To Hell Is Paved With Good Intentions".

In conclusion you can realy do what you please but only on Judgement day will you know your true fate as it was decided when the world was first born.

Sorry, but I think you're way off on this one. Though I have no clue who goes to heaven and who doesn't since I'm not God, I do know that if anyone rejects Christ, at the time of judgment, He'll be rejecting them. A lot of the atheists know this, as they're constantly posting questions about how unfair it is that all they have to do is accept Him, but they simply can't do that, but still think He should accept them into heaven.

different people will tell you different things. but first, you need to decide what concept of heaven you personally have...if, say, you take a christian perspective, they'll probably tell you if you don't love God, then no, you won't go to heaven, irrespective of how "nice" a person you are. Then again, you could always take from Christianity that if you're the worst person in the world, but one who repents...you'll go.

Also, can you be on Jesus "side" just beacuse you do one of the things he says? Isn't that like saying, i dunno, you once went to a football game where you didnt support either side, so you werern;t against either...so you were on both "sides"?

i don't know...just a thought...

Unfortunately the verse that you mentioned says quite the opposite:
Matthew 12:30 (GNB)
"Anyone who is not for me is really against me; anyone who does not help me gather is really scattering."

So who goes to heaven?
Christianity states that Christ comes back for His followers. All who have believe and followed are taken to heaven:
Mathew 24:30, 31 (GNB)
Then the sign of the Son of Man will appear in the sky; and all the peoples of earth will weep as they see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of heaven with power and great glory.
The great trumpet will sound, and he will send out his angels to the four corners of the earth, and they will gather his chosen people from one end of the world to the other.

Actually, only followers of the great God Gorgazoggazorchoyabblesnatz will go
to heaven. Unfortunately, 27,000 years will
pass before He gives His revelation in the
year 29,007 A.D., at which time the calendar
will start again at year 1.
To bad that everyone born before His revelation
will go to Hell. That's even got Jesus beat, with only
the first 4000 years of humans being thrown into
the Weenie Roast (Hell's True Name!)
Hope that helps...

well obviously no one can know the answer. But I cannot imagine someone who spends their life helping others or trying to live a clean, respectable life, being turned away. God is compassionate. He IS love. And I know that my mind probably works different then God's but when I love someone I would never do anything to cause them pain. I know alot of people from a lot of different religions and they are all good people. I know i'm getting long winded but one last thought. My mother used to have a picture of all these different people praying in different ways (symbolizing different religions) and it said "if God made so many different types of people, why would he only allow one way to praise him?" something to think about. Good question.

I believe that people go to heaven when they have a relationship with Jesus. If they have confessed and turned from there sins, accepted Jesus as Savior and did all they could to follow the word. Other than that, it's up to God to decided weather we go to heaven or hell.

We are body, mind, spirit balanced in this material existence. The spirit with mind continues into eternity (afterlife, heaven, hell, etc.) Some religions have chosen to describe heaven and hell with a less colorful brush. We all go into the afterlife...where we arrive is according what spirituality we have fitted ourselves to occupy.
