Simply tune the 2nd string to C, and the 4th string to E.
There are other ways of achieving a C6 tuning on the guitar such as those used by Dobro players. However, they are not suitable for a standard guitar, they tend to put too much tension on the neck.
(To achieve a G6 according to the method proposed by "guitarpicker56" above, you would have to tune the 5th string to a B. If you keep the string at A what you have is G6add9. [in standard tuning the 5th string would already be tuned to B])

I've never attempted to tune a guitar to an open C6 major, but the easiest method to obtain a major sixth tuning is simply tune the sixth string to G and the fifth string to B. The remaining four strings are already tuned to the G sixth chord.

Yeah it incredibly is going to artwork high-quality however the guitar tuner would possibly no longer p.c.. up the C string via fact it incredibly is too low. If the guitar tuner does not p.c.. up the sound initially, play the string along with your bow and then take your bow off yet enable the be conscious ring, the tuner could p.c.. it up.

One way is E, G, C, G, A, E low to high. Any combination of C,E,G,A will give you a C6.
