My life as a human being for the most part is pretty normal and satisfying.....Great family, son, husband, friends.a job I like
and comfortable with myself..HOWEVER the deepest inner part of your soul needs to be fed in my opinion, and for me GOD fullfills that void in your soul, and that is the completion process, the fullfilment of having a personal relationship with GOD.
What and who fills the deepest part of your inner soul? and do you feel complete in everyway in life not having a personal relationship or belief with GOD?

RELIGION HAS CAUSED MORE SUFFERING AND DEATHS OF MEN, WOMEN AND CHILDREN THROUGHOUT HISTORY THAN ANY OTHER CAUSE. ANY OF YOU THAT FOLLOW ANY RELIGION SHOULD BE ASHAMED OF YOURSELVES AS YOU CONDONE THIS! YOUR ALL SICK

I haven't believed in any gods for most of my life and I never feel a void. Knowledge and believing in myself fills the deepest part of my "soul". Yes, I do feel complete in life without a belief in a god.

I don't have a void in my innermost being or mind. I feel satisfied with my disbelief. I don't need a relationship with a hypothetical being which wants me to grovel for his mercy or else be thrown in hell like a piece of garbage. The constant guilt I felt as a Catholic was like a hole in my soul (although I don't believe in a soul). Leaving religion made me feel more complete and happy.

Yes infact before God changed my life completely. I new that there was something missing like I was searching for my happiness in "stuff" of the world. But now Jesus saved me from who I was and now He fills me up. I am complete in Jesus Christ

There is no void in my soul. I have a great life, just like you, and I have it without lying to myself about there being a big parent in the sky. I see nothing wrong with your beliefs, and I hope that you keep them for the rest of your life. I only hope you can give me the same courtesy.

Nope. That is just your mind playing tricks on you. Renounce religion and you will see what a wonderful life you can lead without the man-created concepts of religion to shackle you and control your thoughts and decisions.

Sorry to hear about your void. I never had that. It spared me the inconvenience of adopting preposterous and contradictory ideas. I'm not surprised you've resorted to such desperate measures to hang on to them. You just can't get us out of our system, can you?

When I was a kid I used to carry a blanket around. But that was years ago. Since then, I've been good.

The only thing missing iny life since I left religion is that deep sinking feeling of believing in something silly

It feels great to have it gone

From the answers in here, it's apparent that most people seem to have no such problem. So a LOT of that, in cases such as yours, is probably mindset and palliative.

even with God I don't feel complete in every way - it's a pretty big assupmtion to think that just because someone believes in God or is Born Again that they will never have hurts or voids in their lives

I don't need a personal relationship with a god or gods. Since it is fictitious to me it would be like having a relationship with the Easter Bunny or snipe hunting.
