Because corgis are adorable and they were originally bred in wales... so they are the epitome of the perfect English dog. Plus they are easy to care for and easy to cuddle... you sound very defensive about them by the way... why so angry!?

When you are sovereign of a nation and one of the riches people in the world you can have whatever sort of dog you want.
People with Great Danes are usually trying to compensate for some inadequacy or other. (possibly the inability to spell "Great".)

that's a brilliant question, Ive always wondered that. I guess they fit i ones royal carriage better than a Great Dane which is a much cooler dog. :)
