Actually, Harry Potter books are based on complicated philosophy, if you read 'If Harry Potter Ran General Electric". Not a very good example, but I agree with your point. The Bible is contradictory and mistranslated, but many people belive in it, so we should let them express their belief and go on worshipping it. I respect and love all people and religions, though in todays day and age it is hard to show it.

Your opinion is that they are more believable. Other people disagree.
Will you allow other people to have an opinion and be mature about it, or will you be childish and adhere to the opinion that only those who think like you do are correct?
When you grow up, you will realize that people can have different opinions and still get along with each other. They don't make fun of people because they know that's not cool.
Have a great aftternoon.
By the way, I love Harry Potter! I'm looking forward to the new book.
Which movie did you like best?

Why is the magic of Harry Potter seem "realistic" to you, but stories of Moses parting the Red Sea, or talking snakes in Eden not believable? Even Harry Potter talks to snakes, and you call that realistic, but if Eve talks to a snake, everyone says that Genesis is not realistic.
Seems like a double standard there.

At least the HP stories are set in a believable world, and the magic does have a cause-and-effect mechanism: Do this and this happens, do that, and something else happens.
The tales in the Bible don't seem to have any set rules other than "Biblegod can do what he wants whenever he wants on a whim and frequently without justification."

Because people are more willing to believe in something that doesn't make them take a second look about themselves. Harry Potter isnt telling you that one day you will be judged for you sins. People are afraid to see the truth in the bible because then they would have to "change thier ways". No one wants to be told that what they are doing is wrong, so they think that if they "dont believe" it doesn't make it real.

It was written in a different time span, so it relates to the people then, though we can take out many lessons to apply to ourselves today.
