It's amazing people buy into that crap.
They believe it like it was the gospel or something.

I hate to break this to you, but Revelations has already happened. Revelations was written by a dude named John. Not St. John the disciple of Christ. John did not speak English, so any words you find that describe something is the closest thing the translator could come up with in order to write the text in English. Now John lived in a time when the Romans were persecuting the Christians. That is what Revelations is all about. You also need to bear in mind that the books of the Bible were pasted around for years or centuries by word of mouth. You know how stories get more and more farther from the truth the more people tell it.

well !no! the bible is a book written by man! it was based on the interpretation of some guys with what ever Little knowledge they had at the time. and the human mind can manipulate to do or write anything. what would had happened if a sicko like Hitler would had been the first to lay the foundation of what is now the bible what do you think it will say. we will never know what kind of good or bad people wrote the bible. what if the guy was a reject, nobody liked him, he couldn't get laid, he could have a different point of view of other religion, woman, rich people or poor ..he could push his own ideas to gain ground to other religion's. human nature will all ways dictate how you react to life. knowing this or not knowing it. that's all . well I'll go back to reading my bible "playboy"

Yes the Bible is extremely amazing, the prophets predicted everything about Jesus. The Holy Spirit is even more amazing because The Bible is given to us by the Holy Spirit.

Pilate was the Roman word for Governor of an occupied state it had nothing to do with pilots. You must be reading a revision on my Bibles because mine (a King James Bible and a New English Bible) do not have the word pilot in them. Please take the newer American and Baptist, Methodist etc Bibles with a pinch of salt.

Pilots also drive BOATS, dimwit. They actually had boats way back then! Who would have thought!
As for "naves", they had also invented the wheel by that time (a nave is the hub of a wheel), and also had churches in existence (another definition of nave is the central part of a church.)

Amazing that people buy that crap.
Nostradamus used the same trick. Just use a lot of picturesque allegory and no specifics. People will fit your "prophecy" to current events decade after decade.
By the way, the Greeks and Romans both had navies when Revelation was written.

Yes the Bible is terrific. Years ago I read it from the beginning unto the end. It took me six months, but it is one of my greater feats. Everyone should read it all the way through to get the full impact. You wouldn't pick up any other book and skip around and expect to know what was happening.

The Bible is both amazing AND full of contradictions. (See link, for the latter.) But for those of us who've studied it, there's no doubt that it basically is the word of God.
One of the most preplexing passages is Ex. 21:20-25. It's the *only* place in the Bible that defends a fetus... but the fetus is regarded only to be *property* -- and the passage CONDONES **slavery**!

I wouldn't call it amazing that people 2000 years ago knew about humanity. They were, after all, part of us. And they knew that not everyone will believe tales without evidence. They use this technique to prevent you from 'free-thinking.' If you classify any belief other than your group's belief as heretical, you won't be tempted to think otherwise.

Some call the "chariot of fire" that took Elijah to Heaven an alien space ship. My friend we all read what we want to from the Bible. If I wrote a prophetic story today and it was read 1900 years from now they would read into it what they thought it said and in their eyes they would be right. I really doubt very many people understand what Revelation really says anyways.
