He continuously makes fake facts up and tells my mom untrue diet tips should I stop him! He tells me he feels as though he's under a lie detector! But if he would just stop I wouldn't have a problem!

What do I do?

You are being honest. I couln't possibly let anyone give someone advice when I know for a fact it's wrong.
I applaud him for wanting to be helpful and knowledgable but he needs to be pulled aside and convinced that he shouldn't be handing out advice or facts he thinks is true until he has done his homework. He needs to get his facts straight before he can even be in a position to attemp to hand out diet facts and such.
Thats like asking a 4 year old to change out my transmission.

Mind your own business and stop competing with him for your mothers attention. Your mother knows he's full of hot air.

I think your mom would know. I have a brother too. I know that they are really annoying. But think about how crushed you would be if you lost him.

this has something to do with your question

juist leave him alone. its up to the listener to judge for themselves if its a lie.
if they feel he's lying and tell him off it would have a greater impact than you telling him off.
