Definitely. Kids today eat so much crap. There are preservatives in EVERYTHING (even raw, boneless, skinless chicken breast goes through a preservative "bath" before it is packaged which is why it has such a high sodium content)

The worst part is, even if you are trying to feed your children "fresh" healthy foods they are still consuming hormones, antibiotics and preservatives. It's sickening!

I strongly believe the hormones in dairy products are contributing to early puberty. I have personally known two little girls (from different families) who both started their period before age eight!! Neither of these girls were overweight or suffered from any ongoing medical conditions.

We only buy organic food ever since our oldest child was born. The organic dairy products are pretty pricey, but it's worth it to us if it means better health for our children!

A little bit. I think the main reason some people are obese is because some people don't exercise at all and instead sit in front of the computer and TV all day. Some people do have a medical condition though that makes them obese. I think that the chemicals in meat do make children mature faster especially the girls and I think that there are some girls that are maturing faster because they are doing things to their bodies from an early age that messes up their hormones.

I strongly believe that the food that American made were mostly junk food , meat, milk, fruit, veggies all pumped with chemicals.. is the factor of leading health problems in young kids and adults. I personally believe it also causes young kids to be very emotional, overweighted, having more health issues. We are moving to homestead life style as of next year and grow our own food, eat from our farm animals, all that to live a healither lifestyle.. If we look back at earlier days there wasnt much junkfood, natural meat, milk, all that alot of those folks were alot healither!! ( and happier!) and look now.. Goverment should be paying more attention to this problem rather than throwing all the money around for their luxuries and war..

Actually, Most meat and dairy products promote the fact that they do NOT use hormones and will not use hormones, and these items are fairly common, and affordable, so I really don't think that's the reason we can look to for early puberty. (not to mention that there is no proof of adverse effects from the hormones)

Puberty can be delayed from lack of nutrition; the same works in reverse.

American's especially, eat much more food than our bodies need in order to survive; and this triggers the hormones in our body to kick into overtime. Extra Fat=Extra Early. The reason is that the body thinks "There's plenty of food available, so now is when I should start kicking into fertility, while there is so much nutrients." The body then starts developing in that manner.

Brain damage or other mental disorders can contribute to this as well, although it is most often linked to fat.

Estrogen is a common ingredient in hormones added to chicken, and possibly to other foods as well. For boys, high estrogen levels leads to obesity, and can even lead to them developing breasts! In girls, it can lead to early mensus and obesity as well. Take note that although this is true, it depends on how much hormone-pumped meat is consumed and how much estrogen is actually in it. Remember that in this society, portion sizes have skyrocketed over the last few decades, so if we really want to solve this obesity issue, we should focus on improving our diet and engage in physical activity.

Kids who are overweight go through puberty earlier. (Dr. Oz addressed this on Oprah once) I think that's the real problem. People are giving their children too much juice, fast food, and sweets.

No not at all.
I think if you feed your kid that all the time..they turn obese.
Processed food is not healthy for you and everyone who eats or serves it to a kid should really know that.
I buy organic milk.meats,eggs, etc-no added hormones.
It may cost more but I would rather my child be healthy.

I switched years ago to organic milk. No hormones and it lasts longer. It costs a bit more but is worth it.
