I'm actually a little jealous right now that the only time I will get to wear a dress that fancy is to my own wedding this summer lol. I've seen videos of the types of weddings you are talking about and yeah, they seem pretty all out. I like all the dresses you've picked but the first and second are my favorite. I can't even handle how pretty the purple is in the first one, and how well it works with the beading. The second one isn't normally my style but something about it just makes me love it. As for the one you say might be too decorative, I think once it's in navy it will town down some of the decoration a bit. Plus, the bride should know that if she's planning this sort of wedding that there WILL be some extra fancy gowns there. Your sisters choices are not as poofy as some I have seen....I'm torn between the first and last one because I love the skirts on both.

I wouldn't think a T-shirt and jeans would be appropriate, I'd think the most casual would be khaki and a polo. It would be OK for the polo to have a logo on it, that distinguishes him as the photographer. I understand that they need to be able to move and take pics, but you can do that in something a little more dressy then jeans and a tee. Some photographers dress more formal, a nice suit is appropriate for evening weddings. But, I guess the moral of the story is, if they take great pictures, they could show up in a sequined tube top and thong for all I care!

Semi-formal dress is appropriate. A pair of slacks and polo shirt or similar is the minimum a professional should be wearing. Someone dressed in a t-shirt and jeans does not belong at a wedding in any capacity, and if that person isn't professional enough to dress appropriately for the occasion, they probably don't run the rest of their business very professionally either.

I would expect a wedding photographer to dress to fit the formality of the occasion. If he has some sort of "company dress," it should match the formality of the wedding. There aren't many weddings where jeans and a t-shirt would be appropriate. Think "professional" dress.

Personally I want the photographer to be comfortable. He or she should be able to move around, climb on chairs, get on his/her knees, etc. to get a good shot. That being said, I could care less what the photographer wears, as long as the pictures turn out nice.
My SiL is a wedding photographer and she usually wears black pants and a button-front shirt so that she kind of fades into the crowd and can still move around comfortably.

I would expect a wedding photographer to dress in all black/white or all dark colors, semi-formal (nice pants or skirt, button-down or nice shirt). my friend's dad used to be a wedding photog and he would wear a tux to some weddings.

Your wedding photographer should not stand out. He should dress as a wedding guest does and except when formal portraits are being shot, he should be as inconspicuous as possible.

Jeans and a TSHIRT! Are you kidding! You must dress according to the event. It does not get much more formal than a wedding.

I would expect at least khakis and a polo shirt with the company logo on it. If the guests, wedding party, and officiant are getting dressed up, then he should, too. He should look professional, not like the kid from down the street that you hired 5 minutes before the ceremony.

my photographer had on a nice pair of slacks and long sleeve shirt that he rolled up so he could move and bend easier.
when i think of a company shirt, i think of the AC guy or bug person. i do not think it is proper for this person to be wearing and advertising their company at my wedding and def. no on the jeans.
