First of all, do you have a clear concience? Do you eat late? From expierience, I usualy have bad dreams when I eat late or am stressed out about something. Also watching movies or reading something can affect what you dream about. Watch a funny movie and eat early before bed time. Just a couple of suggestions.

According to the Encyclopedia of Dreams that I have...seeing bugs can signify several things that are not all that bad: (dreaming of bugs) success in business or worldly affairs, (dreaming of many bugs) gold and silver will be given to you, (killing bugs) you will have money, (have bugs in the house) you will have a great deal of money, (dream of having bugs outside the house) do not place blame on friends, (having bugs in the bedding) prosperity beyond your fondest hopes.
(....bug dreaming could be worse.... :) )
If you want the bugs and stuff to go away, you should relax and start thinking about pleasant things as you drift to sleep. Don't obsess on the bugs and hopefully they will go away.
If this interrupts you sleep and causes you insomnia after several weeks, you might want to consult a physician to try a medication to get you over your recent difficulties for a limited time.
Good luck.

What's wrong with unusual creatures or bugs? Everything we dream about has a purpose...you could try looking up the symbolism and see what it means...I believe the animals or bugs have their own wisdom to share. :)

Bug
To see a bug in your dream, suggests that you are worried about something. It is symbolic of your anxieties and/or fears. What is literally bugging you? Consider also the popular phrase "bitten by the bug" to imply your strong emotional ties or involvement to some activity/interest/hobby. Alternatively, the bug may be representative of your sexual thoughts.

Your dreams (obviously) have to do with your state of mind. That in fact depends on a lot of things. For example, do you have a habit of eating or drinking something before you go to sleep? If yes, then what is it? Can you change it to something else....less spicy, salty, sweet? Thats just one example that you could consider. Others, might involve thinking about what kind of people you communicate with throughout the day.

Try going to sleep in a state of semi-suggestion.
I've been successful at doing this.
I tell myself as I am falling asleep, "tonight I will dream about . . . < whatever pleasantry will bring forth a "nice" dream, as you have phrased it. More often than not, I am successful, yet not always. One's subconscious has a power of itself . . if it means to be OUT, it will!
Anyway . . conscious and subconscious, they are both you, so in a way it is a win-win situation for the sake of your psyche!

Try remembering that they are dreams and cannot hurt you. Take control of them. Also, what in your life is troubling you? Is there a person who bothers you? it sounds like your dreams are telling you to take care of this business.

Try visualising what you want to dream about right before you go to sleep. It works for me.
