No, R&S has NOT effected my bedrock faith, attitude, and belief in Almighty God, Jesus Christ, The Holy Spirit, or The Holy Bible one iota. It HAS shown me that there is a growing representative body of the world found here, that have lost all semblence of polite civility, independent thought, and home training manners & have/do disrespect & villify themselves, revel in inappropriate crudenss about & toward themselves and everyone else with seeming joyful, vulgar impugnity.
And although some post/responses shock (which is part of their intent to distract the reader from their lack of a cohesive, personal thought/response) their willingness to accept anything and everything spoken and written on the internet as truth without a thought, it saddens me to see people sell themselves short.
And at the same time, it is a constant reminder that the prophesies of Isaiah, Ezekiel, Daniel, Revelation are fulfilling themselves with a rushing rapidity as never before in my life.
And conversely, my heart is warmed, to see the Christian "young lions & lionesses" within R&S, who radiate with the love of, patience in, and strength of Jesus Christ & are not moved nor reduced to vulgar impugnity when challenged.
And yet when they do not have or know all the answers to some of the irrelevant questions, concerning ancient Biblical/mankind's history, or scientific theories they still stand on the simple, yet freeing faith in Jesus Christ, with "God & Jesus said/did it, & The Holy Bible records it and I believe it all."

Yes, yes, and yes.
It has effected my spirituality in a way that's kind of lit a fire under me. Not really by the atheists, but by the Christians who I think are way off mark. It makes me study and read and seek the truth even more. I had been pretty spiritually latent for awhile, but now I feel back on top of my game.
Way of thinking: pretty similar to above. I'm more self conscious of how I act and how I am portraying my religion.
Life in general: the work day flies by. But I get less work done. Which reminds me, I'm supposed to be re-cataloging our resource library. Ugh.

Hello PhoeniX.
It has *affected* me bvt not so mvch as *effected* me. It has helped in my researh of learning to find my trve self.
There is no Trvth bvt Trvth itself.
Everyone has there ovvn trvth and everyone is on there vvay to discovering their trve selves vvhether they knovv it or not. People can claim to have proof of vvhat they believe, bvt if svch vvas the case, there vovld be no conflicts and/or debates. Different methods are vsed to "prove", vvhen in fact the *methods* themselves are in qvestion (of vvhether or not they are reliable).
For instance: Science is based on different methods itself. One svch method is based on facts. Facts are acqvired by mvltiple test vvith the resvlts completely OR *mostly* the same. Facts have been proven vvrong before and have changed. Most religions are based on the "books," the sacred vvritings. Before there vvere vvritings, it vvas passed dovvn generation to generation orally. Religion has vvhat it has been passed dovvn to them from others before them since the start of it, not by actval vvitnesses alive today excpt for nevv religions. Hovvever, these nevv religions themselves are in qvestion. VVhy? I'm qvite svre it is becavse it deals vvith the svpernaatvral/spiritval vvorld(s) vvhich cannot cvrrently be physically proven. It is all based on *Faith* or the lack thereof.
Take care.

i have a thought here for EVERYONE so if you happen to notice this, please read
do not make judgements on religious people OR atheists based on what you read on this site
it is totally illogical
the people on this site only represnet a TINY MINORITY of religious people or atheists
if you see an atheist being slack and mean, it DOES NOT MEAN that they are all that way
if you see a Christian saying 'you wil go to hell' or being a hypocrite it DOES NOT MEAN that they are all like that
think about this
you are walking down the street and you see someone hitting another person
wouldnt it be stupid if you ran away from the world sayng
'i saw someone being mean. that means all people are mean so i hate them all!!'
thats illogical isnt it
so dont make your judgements by what stupid people on this site may say
be the biger person and dont be judgemental
dont answer nasty qustions/ comments with even nastier answers
sometimes its really hard and we can all go a bit too far (including myself) and maybe regret it later
but seriously people, at the end of the day its just YA, one of the millions of other sites on the net
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
what i have discovered....people can be so judgemental and people fear and despise what they do not understand. they find easy ways out of trying to think eg insulting, making fun of, comng up with 'proof' to contradict others
'we must live together as brothers, or perish together as fools'
Do not lose faith in humanity;
Humanity is a ocean;
if few drops of the ocean are dirty,
the ocean does not become dirty.
-Ghandi
think about it people.....please do...

no. it's a reaffirmation of what i know to be a world full of hatred towards christians in particular.
Ye shall be hated for my namesake.
in the last days there shall come scoffers walking after their own LUSTS saying where is the promise of his coming? For all has remained the same since the fathers fell asleep!
2 Timothy 3:1 This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come
2 Timothy 3:2 For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy
2 Timothy 3:3 Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good
2 Timothy 3:4 Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God
2 Timothy 3:5 Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away
2 Timothy 3:6 For of this sort are they which creep into houses, and lead captive silly women laden with sins, led away with divers lusts
2 Timothy 3:7 Ever learning, and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth

I've become of an atheist than ever before. If people like Rachel and Father K weren't around I would have become a vicious antitheist. As it stands I'm happy to wait another 2000 years and see the old bronze-age religions hang themselves by their own inflexible tenets and die out. It is inevitable.
