The worldwide flood that destroyed all life on earth except for Noah, his family, and the animals in the ark occurred in 4990 B.C. In 2 Peter 3 God refers back to this flood and then transitions to the destruction of the universe by fire. In verse 8 God says, "But, beloved, be not ignorant of this one thing, that one day is with the Lord as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day." This is interesting because God told Noah to get into the ark 7 days before He brought the worldwide flood (Genesis 7:4).
Multiplying 7 X 1000 = 7000 years (1 day=1000 years). Then 7000 years + 4990 BC = 2011 AD (year "0" must count for 1 year). Is this the year Christ will return as the "Lion of the tribe of Judah" to rapture the saints, destroy the universe bringing judgment on the ungodly, and create a new Heaven and Earth?
Before you answer, remember God told Abraham and Lot before He destroyed Sodom + Gomorrah.
**PLEASE NOTE: I AM NOT STATING A DAY NOR HOUR; JUST The YEAR.

In 1 Thessalonians 5:1-5 we read, "But of the times and the seasons, brethren, ye have no need that I write unto you.
2 For yourselves know perfectly that the day of the Lord so cometh as a thief in the night.
3 For when they shall say, Peace and safety; then sudden destruction cometh upon them, as travail upon a woman with child; and they shall not escape.
4 But ye, brethren, are not in darkness, that that day should overtake you as a thief.
5 Ye are all the children of light, and the children of the day: we are not of the night, nor of darkness."

American beauty-I'm sorry if I offended you. I only look to exalt Christ and His word. Although "rapture" does not appear in the Bible, in 1 Thessalonians 4:17 we read, "Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord."

"No man knows the day nor the hour." is a *really* just a metaphor, meaning, nobody *really* knows when it will happen! All you folks on R&S should know this "just a metaphor" business, *very* *well* by now! Anyone who doesn't want to believe a literal intrepretation of a scripture or passage in God's Word, the Bible, says, "Well, you know that that's *really* just a metaphor, don't you? Who could believe that *that* scripture or that *this* passage* could be meant literally? It's just a myth, a fairy tale!"
Does any recall the little book called, "88 Reasons the World Will End in 1988?" That was 19 years ago for (as Rush Limbaugh woud say) those of you in Rio Lindo! Guess what, we're still here!

1) the flood did not destroy all life besides noah and his family. gong. the flood was around 3000 bc. the sixth day women and men were created around 6000 b.c. and adam and eve were created around 4000 b.c. check your math.
2) the end days has everything to do with the planting of the fig tree in 1948. there was no end generation until that event as made clear by Yeshua.
so no, 2011 isn't the most likely year for his return. the Suntelia aeon of Decemember 2012 is more likely because of the astrological and spiritual significance of that event.
The Milky Way Galaxy is the inspiration for the symbol of the Ouroboros. Myth refers to a serpent of light residing in the heavens. The Milky Way is this serpent, and viewed at galactic central point near Sagittarius, this serpent eats its own tail. The Milky Way galaxy keeps a great time cycle that ends in catastrophic change. The sign of the Suntelia Aion is the sun rising out of the mouth of the ouroboros, which will occur on the solstice December 2012 - which links with the Mayan Calendar as a symbolic date for the clse our our reality - virtual reality program - Quetzalcoatl - and escalating Earth changes in the Ring of Fire.

Biblically speaking, that event that ends life as we know it now.... and starts the tribulation is when a man makes a peace treaty with Israel
i dont know of any scripture that can calculate the year that it will occur
which makes me think that "the year" that it happens doesnt matter
i remember a guy who put a book together using mostly mathmatical calculations to come up with the year 1988 as being the time that it begins
all his calculations were correct. but he put certain prophetic events together in ways that they were not meant to fit
calculating days will not be possible until the tribulation has begun... using the numbers that are in the book of Revelations to know when certain things mentioned in that book will happen and when Jesus will return in the Second Coming
.
before the time of the flood, and before the destruction of Sodom and Gomorrah
God spoke personally to those men.
from that one could say that God would speak to his people sometime before the beginning of the tribulation.
so pre-calculating to mathmatically try to figure things out about when things start isnt necessary.... and its also unbiblical
.

Oh and lets carry the 2 and divide by the number of the books in the bible x the numbers verse less the number of sins of man times the average weight of a lamb and we get 42
42 is the meaning of life the universe and everything thus the world will end in the year 42...darn that didn't work

Don't pat yourself on the back just yet. There is no scripture to support the idea of a rapture. And since even the angels don't know when Jesus will return, it's highly unlikely that you would know, even with your vast intelligence.

It makes me so sad to see this. Christians are the only group (of the major monotheistic faiths) to try to pin the time of the Day of Judgment. It seems to me that you should live your life to God's standards to the best of your ability everyday... you might die tomorrow. For all you know tomorrow could be your day of judgment.
You shouldn't try to pin the time to be able to repent that day. You should be repenting and praying everyday.
THis is only my opinion
Peace and blessings,
Sakina

Where did you get the year 4990 BC for the flood. I thought most creationists believed that the world was only 6000 years old?!

As you're basing your idea on religion then you can rest assured nothing will happen in that year. Apart from continued death and destruction in the name of some god or other.
