You can't improve your spoken English by reading and writing. The best way to improve it is to find someone who speaks English well and converse with him or her. I had a roommate in college who was born in France and he used to do this for French students. They would go for a walk, or to the grocery store or something and just talk, for about an hour at a time.

Find someone who is a native speaker of English who can spend an hour or so with you, maybe three or four times a week.

Here in the US we have many many people who speak English as a second language. There are people in high places--managers and even vice presidents--who I have trouble understanding. A lot of people complain about this and make fun of them, but in general I think we're more tolerant of accents than most places.

Yes, I'd like to help. I think Yahoo 360 is the best instrument for that purpose. One thing: try not to use the sloppy abbreviations and careless language you see here. Read good, old-fashioned English books (I will recommend plenty if you get in touch), and learn from them. Too many people here on Answers use English as if they were doing Instant Messaging, and each letter was a nuisance to bring up. That's where all those recent abbreviations came from, you know. They are doing it on their cell phones, and forget about the Queen's English.

You've got to learn how to write correctly first by signing up for English classes at a community center or community college (not expensive). Make sure you don't speak too fast because your mind might not be able to catch up. Don't try to use slanges yet. Correct yourself the moment you find yourself mis-spoken. Also ask the other person if you're speaking correctly. Speak and listen to English often. There are audio English speaking tapes sold in Barnes and Noble. Listen to them while you're driving. Good luck.
