Lost on 30th April 1975. Not easy to admit they lost. Maybe the Vietnam Vets of yesterday can help the Iraqi vets when they lose the Iraqi war.

My father is a Vietnam Vet and I would never expect him to say that our country lost the war. Sure, we didn't technically come out on top, but my dad still believes that he served our nation and he would like some respect for that. I understand that many people do not agree with the war in Iraq currently, but do you really know the whole story, do you know all the details of the situation, do you what we are actually fighting for? Even though we don't know all the details, Americans make assumptions about the conditions over seas. I think that people should give credit to those solders over seas who are risking their lives for our freedom.

They didn't lose. The US did. As a matter of fact, there weren't any troops in Vietnam in April 1975, at least none to speak of. The war had been "Vietnamized," and it wasn't lost until Congress cut off funding to the RVN government. The troops did their part. It was Congress that declared a defeat. Put the responsibility where it belongs, and be prepared for a repeat.

The losers in our government lost the war in Vietnam, the soldiers won all the battles! It's because the two-faced bastards in Washington are the ones losing in Iraq, not the soldiers. It's pretty hard to fight an enemy with one hand tied behind your back!

First of all, it was the politicians who ended the U.S. involvement in Vietnam, and we were winning at the time, the Democrats decided that enough was enough and since they couldn't win the Whitehouse they would take it by blaming the Republicans for losing the war (but it was the democratic controlled congress that lost it) sound familiar. DON"T LET HILARY, NANCY, HARRY AND CINDY LOSE IRAQ

Wow....talk about revisionist history.

The US Military won the Vietnam war. They won the majority, if not all, the military battles, and drove the North Vietnamese to the peace table.

It was the US population and politicians that lost the peace.

If you look at it, you can see remarkable parallels between Vietnam and Iraq.....the military did their job, did it well, but because of a vocal minority, the rest of the US population believed we "lost" and screwed the soldier once again.

hey asshole, those who came before me did not lose in Vietnam. We signed a peace treaty with the North, they did not overrun South Vietnam till we left, secondly our soldier who came before me never lost a battle, despite the politicians best efforts.
As far as us losing in Iraq, the insurgents have not won a single engagement with US forces, they can only hold an area if we let them. Sorry you little prick your hereos can not win against the US Army, unless our leaders let them.

viet nam veterans DID NOT lose the war...politicians did.
the navy sea bees could have paved that whole country in a couple of years...the politicians lost it just as they are losing the war on terrorism and Iraq

The soldiers won the battles.
The politicians lost the war.
That's probably how it will go this time around too.

they didn't lose. They didn't lose
what they did lose was years of connecting with their children, going to college, possiblities of good experience, friends they had just met and in some cases, their sanity
and they'll never get it back
