My boyfriend and my 3 year anniversary is on monday. I think he has this big date planned, and I don't know if I should just get it over with or wait until afterwards. It seems to me that either way he will be wasting his money.

No need to drag things out any longer ... if he's wasting his money either way ... have him invite his mom or something ... tell him before Monday - maybe like today sounds as if you're ready ... lol ... good luck ... !

Break up with him now. First of all, it will save him the trouble of getting a big date planned and paid for and Secondly, he will ask you how long you had been thinking of breaking things off and wonder if you knew on the anniversary that you were planning on breaking up with him. Either way, it sounds like he'll be heartbroken but it will be easier on him if you do it now.

Is it worth throwing away 3 years? There are good reasons to split up, but if you have been together for almost three years then think about it.
If there is any doubt, don't break up. Splitting up at a milestone in ones relationship can cause lasting damage.
He will be hurt no matter when you split, but at an anniversary it will hurt more. Good luck.......whatever the outcome.

Well girlfriend you need to do this now. Just waiting will only make things worse. And besides if you have already made up your mind that you don't want to be with him anymore then you are only putting it off so that it will give you a chance to feel sorry for him and then you want break up with him. Then you will end up spending another 3 yrs with him waiting to break up trust me do it now before you invest anymore of your time into it !!!!!!

You should never break up with someone after an anniversary and they think that they love and care about you.

Do it before he does anything romantically special for you...it's the right thing to do.

You should break up now. Don't drag it on and wait until he spends the money, time, and effort for nothing. And it will hurt that much more if you do it on your anniversary.

Either way you are going to break his heart. It would be better to tell him before Monday- in person- before he does all that great stuff for you.

break up with him before it....it will be much harder for both of you during that date if you dont...i know you're already set on breaking up but you've been going out for 3 years....try to talk to him about it first though sweetie...thats what i would do, but either way *GOOD LUCK*

Break it off before. Don't let him spend that money on you when you know that you are going to dump him.
