Here recently (the last week or so) my 27 month old has shown a BIG intrest in the potty.

He comes to me to take his diaper off, and tells me that he's pooped (even if it's just pee, he says he pooped)..and we've been letting him run around naked, during the day, in hopes that he will use the potty chair on his own, well, instead of using the potty chair, he will bring me a diaper and lay down...So he's showing signs of being ready, and he even brings his potty chair to me and says "Pee pee" but once he's siting on it, he won't go, 2 min. later, after he's in a diaper, it's wet, and he's asking to have it taken off.

how can i get him to start using the potty chair?

If he is showing interest, that is great. You can start by encouraging him when he is on the potty and even have a treat or toy if he uses it. My mom used m&m's with us. If we went pee in the potty we would get only one. Also, he may be more comfortable going in the potty if you put it next to the toilet and when he is ready to use it, you should at least sit on the toilet with him. If you can go too, that would be great because he knows that is what it is for. If you use it in front of him, it is a great reinforment.
My niece is potty training and i let her in the bathroom with me when i go, if she follows me in. She will always sit on her potty, even if she doesn't have to go, when i'm going.

While all the little potty chairs marketed for children seem fun and easy to use, I've found that they aren't any better. Using the "big potty" like mom and dad is more "fun and grown up" . Try sitting him on the big potty. Also tell him diapers are for babies and take them completely away cold turkey. Give him big boy undies. As long as you set the limits and stick to them without faltering your son won't become confused. It's frustrating and time consuming but won't take long at all. I used this method with both my sons and it worked wonderfully!

I think it REALLY helps boys to potty train standing up. Boys are hard enough to train but when they can see what is happening it helps to connect the sensations. My friend told me about The Potty Stool http://www.thepottystool.com I was skeptical the stool would make a difference but I never would have guessed how well it works!

I realized later that my kids really wanted to imitate what they saw adults doing and they were very determined to mimic correct toilet use.

This really is the greatest thing to happen to potty training. I like that I don't have to use or clean a floor potty and I love that my kids are safe and never have to touch the toilet with their hands! My kids just get right up to the toilet on their own.

The best part is that kids use it for years. Hope this helps you.

It sounds large. he's already have been given the belief, via fact he's peeing interior the potty. My in basic terms suggestion is to by no ability placed a pull up or diaper on him returned. in case you do, it incredibly is going to in basic terms confuse him. After the the huge boy celebration, you will maximum possibly would desire to freshen up his messes, a lot, yet that each and all and sundry component of the academic technique for him. Make various journeys to the potty primary, and whilst he is going provide him diverse hugs and kisses and his reward. seems such as you're stunning on course!

if there is a male figure around, have them "play a game"
like race to the bathroom to see who could get there 1st and use the bathroom 1st. my uncle did this with my cousin & he was potty trained between a year & a half - 2 years old. hope this helps! good luck!

Dang...you are so lucky....my 3 year old doesn't show any interest...and I am at my wits end!

My son is the same way...I can lead him to the potty...make him sit...but nothing. He loves to pee in the shower.

Anyway...just take your time...keep taking him in and sitting him down...

Maybe he doesn't like the feeling of sitting and peeing. Try having him stand and sprinkle some warm water on his tinkler and that will stimulate him to go especially if he knows he needs to go. He'll get the idea. You can buy little flushable targets to put in there for him to aim at too
