My youngest turned 4 and had no interest in potty training. We tried everything, including bribery. He's very independant and everything has to be his idea.
Last month he decided to be potty trained so he could go to preschool. He is now doing all his business in the toilet and stays dry at night. Occassionally he'll have an accident, but good grief, it's only been 3 weeks.
If your son is motivated by rewards, the Wiggles World goal should work pretty well.
Good luck and have fun at Wiggle World.

We started giving our 2 year old stickers to put on her sticker chart and when her page got full we bought her a new toy. She loved picking out her own stickers too. Eventually she forgot all about the stickers and started just using the potty regularly. Also having family and friends over and praising the child makes them feel like going on the potty is the coolest thing in the world and they want to keep impressing everyone.

If you want this kid to become anal retentive and only do things for you if you bribe him, then keep up this tactic. Since he is just a little boy, doing this puts too much pressure on him and will make him feel shamed if he can't make it to the toilet. He may be showing resistance already and having more "accidents". Praise him for getting it right and be patient. Don't mess with his head - he's got enough problems coming to terms with the other end!
The star chart is okay but the "only big boys..." is just mean. The kid's trying to learn - saying that implies he's older than he is. Ease up and watch the kid rise to the occasion. Do you really want to set him up to associate making doo doo with stress and anxiety? I think not!

Sounds like a great reward. My son would love it! At his age he may only understand immediate rewards but you are doing that with the stickers you have your bases covered. I have just started potty training with stickers as well. I also use smarties.

I like your idea; I think it's thoughtful and could be helpful to potty train the child. My fear (longer term) would be that it would teach the child that he/she will be entitled to a reward for everything that you want him to do. For instance, being well-behaved. That should be encouraged verbally but not rewarded by a "bribe."

With my daughter we are doing the sticker chart, so she can see how many times she uses it, and LOTS of praise. Telling her she is a big girl, and so on. We also went shopping and let her pick out real panties that big girls get to wear.

I think its a great idea, as long as its not a bribe for every time he goes on the potty.

dont think of it as bribery, think of it as positive reinforcement, that just sounds better, haha. but, yes, positive reinforcement is a great method for younger ones, mainly because rewards is the only thing they respond to.
