I ask this because there have been MANY stories, such as Thecla, found in anceint Christian libraries. They used stories outside the Bible to teach and live by. So where does it state the Bible is the ONLY word of God?

But does it state its the ONLY word of God? And if it does then why did early Christians use so many other stories and books to teach?

Actually a lot of those books are speaking of Christ as God. Hence they were used to teach, just not cannonized

One of you said that those scripture deny the divine of Jesus. Some of them don't. One of the theories on why Thecla was left out of the Bible was that she preached women denying sex with thier husbands so that they could stay pure. It would sort of hard to carry one Christianity with out babies. BUT her story was found in Christian libraries for centuries. She never denied Jesus was divine.

The problem comes when writings contradict the bible.
God is big. God has in his bible what HE wants in there.
"2 Timothy 3:16
All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness,

The idea that all revealed truth is to be found in "66 books" is not only not in Scripture, it is contradicted by Scripture (1 Corinthians 11:2, 2 Thessalonians 2:15, 2 Thessalonians 3:6, 1 Timothy 3:15, 2 Peter 1:20-21, 2 Peter 3:16). It is a concept unheard of in the Old Testament, where the authority of those who sat on the Chair of Moses (Matthew 23:2-3) existed. In addition to this, for 400 years, there was no defined canon of "Sacred Scripture" aside from the Old Testament; there was no "New Testament"; there was only Tradition and non-canonical books and letters.
Our Lord founded a Church (Matthew 16:18-19), not a book, which was to be the pillar and ground of Truth (1 Timothy 3:15). We can know what this Church teaches by looking not only at Sacred Scripture, but into History and by reading what the earliest Christians have written, what those who've sat on the Chair of Peter have spoken consistently with Scripture and Tradition, and what they've solemnly defined. To believe that the Bible is our only source of Christian Truth is unbiblical and illogical.

That isn't written in the bible. Jesus Is the Word of God. This Jesus Christ of Nazareth, the Son of the Living God.
Those other books deny this Jesus Christ of Nazareth, the Son of the LIving God. So that is why they aren't included in the Holy Bible. Only Books discerned of Godly inspiration are in the Holy Bible.
Me, the Holy Spirit of Truth is the anointing we receive when born of God. And this Spirit leads us into all truth, & Is Truth above our teachers. John2:27.
You can read apocryphal writings. But they have something anti Christ, or anti women in them. For me, that is easily discerned. And they cause doubt in Jesus atonement for our sins & resurrection. See? The devil says the truth, then adds deception to steal our salvation (eternal life) provided for us. Salvation provided through faith in Jesus Christ, the Son of the LIving God, who shed His blood for remission of our sins & raised up for our justification.
It is also written that Christians are living epistles of God. That is their testimony. Every Christian has been delivered from darkness into His light & have a testimony to tell.

maybe if you read the very end of Revelation you will see, there is the Lambs Book of Life which is being written everyday and in less your name is written in it you shall not see the Kingdom of God there will be many false prophets who will try to keep you from the word of God, the Holy Spirit will speak to your heart if you have accepted Jesus Christ as your personal Lord and Savior, in the end of days Gods Spirit shall pour out upon all flesh, what is most important is not what books are not in the Bible what and who is in your Heart

--JESUS NEVER referenced anything but the Hebrew Scriptures:(OT)
(John 17:17-19) “17 Sanctify them by means of the truth; YOUR WORD(my caps) is truth. 18 Just as you sent me forth into the world, I also sent them forth into the world. 19 And I am sanctifying myself in their behalf, that they also may be sanctified by means of truth.”
--WHEN ON THE road with 2 of his disciples note what specific reference he made as to the truths about his coming and dying for mankind:
(Luke 24:26-27) “. . .Was it not necessary for the Christ to suffer these things and to enter into his glory?” 27 And commencing at Moses and all the Prophets he interpreted to them things pertaining to himself in all the Scriptures. . .”
--ALSO when tempted in the wilderness by Satan, the only reference Jesus gave to Satan were the Hebrew Scriptures(Luke 4)
