That's true. There's several factors that could cause that.
No Doz is a tablet that has to dissolve. It's not as readily available for absorption when it's in the stomach. Liquids, on the other hand, are free-flowing, and they can be absorbed quicker.
A similar factor is that the coffee is hot. Hot liquids move around faster than cold ones. (Remember the grade-school experiment, where you take a glass of cold water and a glass of hot water, and put a drop of food coloring in each one?)And so the caffeine is getting agitated inside the stomach, which helps the stomach absorb it faster.
It could also be the caffeine content itself. Coffee has more caffeine than sodas. It also has as much caffeine as some energy drinks. And the coffee drinks at cafes can be very caffeinated; much more than homemade coffee.
Those three factors combined: that it's liquid, hot and just as caffeinated, is why I think it gives that quicker kick.
