Canada is the best country ever, why?

Canada is "so awesome" because it is a miniature version of the World. There are so many cultures and so many landscapes to enjoy. Surfing on the coasts, skiing in the west, and east. Prairies with amazing fishing and some of the most charitable people (not to mention a parliament building in Manitoba that has ties to the Stone Masons). Ontario has beautiful lakes and large cities. Quebec is steeped in european culture. The east coast is where hospitality was invented. Universal health care, socialist foundations, and a deep desire to make this world a better place....those are a few reasons why Canada is awesome!

I don't know if Canada is the best country ever, but I do think it is great! I am American and my husband is Canadian. We are in the US b/c the economic opportunities are better right now, but we may eventually live in Canada. Here are some reasons;
1) People seem nicer/friendlier
2) There is a greater concern for the well-being of society as a whole, rather than so much "what's in it for me" individualism in the US
3) It's pretty clean.
4) Lower crime than in the US.... although crime is worsening especially in Toronto
5) Different cultures seem to coexist peacefully
6) Canadian foreign policy relies more on diplomacy and less on guns
7) Religion does not appear to be a factor in government/politics as it is in the US
8) Canada joins Vietnam, Iraq and Afghanistan as the only places the US has unsuccesfully invaded (War of 1812 folks!)

Cheers!

I think Canada is the best country for so many reasons! First, our country is so diverse and beautiful. We have fishing villages, mountains, fishing villages, and cosmopolitan cities...there's something for everyone. I have travelled across Canada and Canadians are generally very friendly and laid back. We don't have crazy politicians or as many political scandals as our neighbours to the south! In addition, Canada is a very diverse, multicultural country which is always interesting. I'm from Toronto, and when I walk down the street I can get souvlaki, roti, naan, and calzones all on the same block....where else can you do that? Canada's the best!

Well, I haven’t lived anywhere but Canada, so I can’t say with 100% certainty that we are the best country ever, but I do have to say we’ve got it pretty good. We’ve got:

- universal healthcare. You’ll never have to worry about being stuck with thousands of dollars in medical bills here, no matter who you are.
- great social benefits, for example one year government-paid maternity leave for all working moms (or dads!)
- cheaper post-secondary education (at least compared to the US – in some European countries university is much cheaper, or even free).
- a booming economy, at least in the West.
- a very low crime rate in relation to our population.
- the most beautiful and diverse landscape of any country on earth.
- relatively little pollution (we do have some)
- just as much freedom as any American – I know Americans are very proud of their freedom (and so they should be), but sometimes some of them act like they are the only country in the world that has it.
- and many more reasons!

As much as I love Canada, and I really do, I don't think it is the best ever. I have too many more to visit before I can quantify that.

Never been there, but I'm sure its very nice. But, darn, it seems a bit too cold for me in winter. How do people get around in the winter? I don't have a 4-wheeler or snow-mobile.
