The age for service in the priesthood is from 30 to 50. See Numbers 4:3.

The gospels were written to record his teaching, and that they do. The rest either wasn't considered that important, or more likely, was considered "uninspired of G-d" by the men who chose which books are canon.

The Bible does tell us that from 12 to 30 years of age Jesus lived in Nazareth and worked with his father as a carpenter. Why didn't Jesus begin his ministry before he was 30. Two reasons suggest themselves.

Before the age of 30 no young man was accepted as mature in the society of that time. So for Jesus to begin his ministry before he was 30 years old would have meant that he would not have had respect as a teacher--most likely he would have been ignored or even despised as a young upstart.

Also, God's plan included John the Baptist's work in preparation for the public ministry of Jesus. John too had to wait until he was 30 so that his ministry would be respected by the people.

The Bible is silent on this period of time. we know that at age 12, he was talking with the elders at the temple in Jerusalem. We can assume that he studied for his bar mitzvah near age 13--he must have, he was allowed to read scripture in all the synagogues during his ministry. he was accepted as a carpenter;presumably he learned the craft from Joseph-and probably worked at it for a number of years. He was often addressed as Rabbi--so maybe he continued his studies, perhaps the Kaballa? the old testament scriptures? writings of the ancient Jewish scholars? we also know that the wedding at Cana was his first public miracle and the start of his ministry-Mary knew he was capable, but he told her it wasn't time yet, maybe he wouldn't have started for another year if left up to him.

--WE KNOW some accounts , for instance at age of 2 , the magi found Jesus in the house of his parents in order to give him gifts and honor him:
(Matthew 2:11-12) “. . .And when they went into the house they saw the YOUNG CHILD(my caps) with Mary its mother, and, falling down, they did obeisance to it. They also opened their treasures and presented it with gifts, gold and frankincense and myrrh. 12 However, because they were given divine warning in a dream not to return to Herod, they withdrew to their country by another way.”

--THIS ACCOUNT shows what happened , at the age of 12 when his parents lost him for a while:
(Luke 2:41-43) “. . .Now his parents were accustomed to go from year to year to Jerusalem for the festival of the passover. 42 And when he became twelve years old, they went up according to the custom of the festival 43 and completed the days. But when they were returning, the boy Jesus remained behind in Jerusalem, and his parents did not notice it. . .(Luke 2:46-47) “. . .Well, after three days they found him in the temple, sitting in the midst of the teachers and listening to them and questioning them. 47 But all those listening to him were in constant amazement at his understanding and his answers. . .
.....52 And Jesus went on progressing in wisdom and in physical growth and in favor with God and men".
--IF YOU see he continued his appreaciation for spiritual matters and in each stage of life he developed as the perfect man Jesus! THIS NEXT text explains why not much detail was given and the unnecessity of it until 29 A.D.--

(John 21:25) “. . .There are, in fact, many other things also which Jesus did, which, if ever they were written in full detail, I suppose, the world itself could not contain the scrolls written.”

--DO WE NOT have the most important information in the scriptures that would suffice for anyone to have faith in him as the true messiah, I would think so!

Mario is probably correct but as primoa says, we don't know. It's not important. His childhood is noted somewhat to establish his identity as the Messiah and his life is picked up at the start of his ministry.

Somethings were important in His childhood, but most were not. If I remember correctly, when He was 30 years old He really felt His call to God. Between, He probably was just, growing up.

But not all gospels were included in the Bible. (That part of the DiVinci Code was true.)

God has plan it that way and for order it too work it must be on time in the time and place at the right moment of his will to work out his will and by saying that there was no other time better than the time that Jesus showed up on the scene, because to this day his name has reign over all in truth in disbelief in doubt in non-believers and believers and from one end to the other end of the world. research it i did and it still amazes me!!!!!!!
