Why do girls do the same thing? Aren't all humans vain in some way? The problem with your statement is that you're being highly hypocritical. There's so many girls that claim to prefer the guys with good personalities even if they don't look as good, but end up dating the better looking guys who are jerks. Now why is that? Because physical attraction holds the same importance as an intellectual attraction at first with both males and females.

Are you seriously going to sit here and tell me you would date the ugliest guy if he was the nicest, kindest man on Earth? You definitely wouldn't, and I get annoyed when people claim to, when they know damn well they wouldn't. Its all just about trying to look good for you people huh?

Lucky for me, my gf is both pretty and has a wonderful personality. Its rare but I'm one of the lucky ones :)

You're not being stupid, however, you are generalizing a stereotype, and thats bad. Not all guys are into the loud pretty girl, believe me. But some guys just simply are looking for that kind of thing in a girl. Plain and simple. Your job is to find the guy who is looking for the girl with the good personality.

I personally dislike loud people and "pretty" is a subjective thing; what I may find pretty others may not.

I'd rather have someone who *I* think is pretty rather than what everyone else thinks is attractive physically. To me, personality figures into how attractive I think a woman is so, to answer your question, I do go for good personality over looks (though I still have to find her at least minimally attractive physically--it doesn't take much though as personality is far more important).

For some reason I like someone who's pretty "loud" and in your face, but once you get past that the personalities got to match.

Looks also play a factor, as people most are superficial when it comes to initial attraction.

I always go for a good personality. Do most men go for women just because of looks? Maybe. I don't think men are any more shallow then women, though. A woman will go with a guy just because he looks good or is a jerk (the women will say he's outgoing and talkative and then find out he's a jerk). Or how about women who'll go with a guy just because of his car, or crap like that. I'm a good guy and I look for women with a good personality. And no, that doesn't mean I'm ugly.

Pretty + loud = gets attention easily. Guys like to be with the girl every guy notices... the loud part will get old after awhile though.

I hate loud people!! They are annoying. Pretty or ugly. It doesn't matter. I just got lucky to have the good personality, pretty and lovely rolled into one with my girlfriend. Most guys are shallow. They think better of themselves with a "pretty" girlfriend because she is "hot". However, they won't be happy with her as much as they would be with someone they are compatible with.

Guys are attracted to loud girls IMO because those girls are in spotlight, and those guys want to be popular between their mates. When we become mature, we appreciate personality more, because we have had enough of those damn bitches.

So basically in most cases it is a problem of teenagers. Don't be a biatch, and the guys will appreciate you more when u get older =]
